(SPOILER) 'Serenity: Float Out' Solicitation. It comes out in June. Also Buffy Season 8 mugs!

Reminder: There is no Buffy comic out in June.

Wubba "a cameo that will leave Serenity fans reeling" huh? Hmm.
I spy a reaver ship on the cover.
I think the cameo will be "Joss-as-Rabelais" (i.e., The Immortal) done Doré-style as we see here.

☐ Yes?
☐ No?
☐ Hardly?
☐ WTF?
☐ Yes!? (again)

It'd make me reel.

---

ETA: some 'splainy - for all y'alls info, last week I found that drawing of Rabelais in a Doré-illustrated version of Gargantua and Pantagruel at this awesome electronic library and thought it looked like Joss. A lot.

I twitted about it, and suggested that maybe Joss was in fact a vampire, and cabri suggested he might have been The Immortal all along.

It all makes sense, in a if-you-have-my-cartoon-brain and don't-think-about-it-too-much kindof way. ; >

Anyhoo, to get back on track, I look forward to this comic with interest and a strong desire to see Wash, shall we say, resurrected.

Buffy?
I recall someone saying that Joss wanted Spike in a scene in Firefly, with him sitting at a bar, saying "Nothing ever changes" but he decided not to mix universes or something.
Well, not exactly, but sort of, yeah.

The Spike thing was my first shot. I think that'd be a more "will leave fans of Buffy reeling" rather than strict Serenity fans though, so it isn't my solid "top guess".
I honestly have no idea. Book?
Or hey, here's an idea: Wash himself. Not story-flashback Wash, but actually Wash.

*slaps hands to cheeks in shock, Culkin-style*

ETA: Or yes, possibly Book. In a place unexpected, setting up a Shepherd's Tale.

Since it looks like most of the stories take place pre-Serenity (pilot), maybe the cameo is of one of the other crew involved in something unexpected in their "previous lives". That would open up all sorts of possibilities for future arcs...
After seeing the sketches in Comics Alliance's interview linked here the other day, I don't think the cameo should be much of a mystery.
Hm, wonder how I missed that. It'd be nice if this is where we get the explanation of how they got together considering their first meeting was less than sparkage.
I want a Buffy the Vampire Slayer coffee cup. Now you all know what to get me for my birthday.

What's this about a cameo? Dark Phoenixy Willow maybe.
I think Quotergal is on to something. That picture looks scarily identical to his Jossness.

....or possibly I had too much wine with my dinner. I'll have to look at it again tomorrow to be sure. :-P
Really like the style of the non-Jo Chen cover and how it depicts Wash, will probably buy that one if I have a choice.

And my mind is dirty, because the Jo Chen cover--which is a fine likeness and Chen's usual level of excellence--just makes it look like he's holding a big black dildo or a misshapen Fleshlight/Fleshjack in his hand (just Google it). Sorry for that image guys, but I found it too amusing not to point out.
I was most intrigued by the Serenity future bit.
Joss being The Immortal certainly answers many questions. Or even just being an immortal.
And I appreciate people being careful not to reveal what or whom they saw in the interview mentioned above.
