Aww! Congrats!!
Congrats to James on the engagement and the age difference ;)
Congratulations to the happy couple
First, Congratulations to James! I am happy for him, but I have to say....the US Mag article calls her his longtime girlfriend. When people say longtime, I imagine a relationship that's around 9 or 10 years and greater. She's 24. I mean, how longtime could it have been? LOL!
Nooo! He's mine!
Arrgh, okay ... congratulations.
This news really makes me smile. I'm so happy for them both. I wish them all the best.
Irishgirl, I remember reading that he was dating an art student when I was in high I'm assuming they've been together 4 or 5 years.
Oh congratulations to them both. Yay!! *g*
I'm so happy for them, and only a little bit jealous of her. They've been together about five years, I think, and she's been living with him for a while. Nice she's going to make an honest woman man of him!

Seriously, I'm delighted and wish them both all the love and joy in the world.

10 years is an eternity in showbiz terms. 6 months is long term. James has known Patricia for about 5 years.

Congrats to the happy couple!
Congratulations to both of them!

(and wow, it is a long term)
That's wonderful! Congrats!
Congratulations, James!! :D
@JM_Live just tweeted this Facebook post whch says "Any posts attributed to them are bogus."
Not sure exactly what 'posts' they are reffering to, but a huge congrats to James if this story is true! :)

The facbook clarification refers not to the original announcement ( which is indeed official and genuine) but to comment postings on some sites about the engagement which claim to be from James or his manager.
Knew this day was coming, I'm actually surprised it took him this long. Congrats James and Pat! Wishing you both continued happiness. Joss better be invited to the wedding ;p
Congratulations! I don't know why people make such a big deal about the age difference. They are 2 consenting adults who love each other and shouldn't that be all that matters? You take love where you find it and I hope they are as happy with each other as me and my husband of 33 years are. Again, Congratulations and best wishes!!
Amen, Luvspike. I wish them a life of much joy.
Very warm congratulations to both James and Patricia. I wish them well.
Congratulations to the couple! Good news like this is always a welcome event.
In the words of Zonker, Hee-whackitty-doo-doo-doo!
I'm happy for James. I think historically he has always been interested in much younger women and to each his own. But in just a side note in thinking about this because of other things I've been reading, it would sure be nice if society was as tolerant of an older woman being with a man less than twice her age or more. Socially, psychologically, I just think it is an unfair double standard. I would be as happy, hypothetically if say, Charisma were single at 50 and married a 25 year old, but I bet the snarking in the media would be outrageous.
Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher or Melanie Griffith & Antonio Banderas seems to be fine
Irishgirl, I too was going "Gaaahh" reading that article from the link. Three times actually! First realizing he's almost half a century old now. Then for roughly the same reason as you were: I know he has a son of about twelve and assumed from the "longtime companion" description the wedding would be to his mother. (Of the boy, not his own, of course ;)) Finally: he met her at a concert in Amsterdam??! Really? Don't tell me it was during the last tour of Ghost of the Robot, because I was there! (And now I have this Spike-quote about Woodstock and the crucifixion in my head)

Tonya J is making me curious, though: "historically he has always been interested in much younger women". Could you amplify a bit on that, if its not too gossipy a question for this site? (And no, I'd be the last one to nudge or wink over the age difference, as I was born out of a marriage with a 21-year age gap myself.)
