Dr. Horrible DIY action figures at CustomCon by MsBigPileOfDust.

These are cute, but they knocked the rare and wonderful purple post off the front page way too soon. :(
These can't legally be sold. QMX paid for the toy license in November. Sorry to be bad guy.
I don't think they are for sale. Unless I'm mistaken, they're just for looking.

According to the site, "CustomCon shows off the custom action figures of many different Customizers. It is in the format of a fictional toy action figure trade show or convention."

[Emphasis mine.]
The Captain Hammer figure looks an awful lot like Vinnie Van Lowe from Veronica Mars.

I miss that show... :'(

Private eyes, they're watching you...

gossi, do you mean that it's illegal to massproduce, or to sell at all?

Because I've hard on sideshows forum that it's fine as long as every piece is unique, and copies aren't made to sell. Custom pieces like these are made and sold there all the time, and I doubt sideshow would let it's own forum run illegal business.
If somebody has sold a license to sell toys, I'd guess nobody else should be selling them (technically).
Those are awesome! I wish I had some kind of talent. If only I could sew a Dr.Horrible...oh well at least I get to look at all the other pretties.

Edited to add: I hate my phone for randomly posting twice. Anyone know how to delete a comment?

I think they would be considered art pieces, gossi.

Ever been to an art show at a con?
Copyrights are not a simple issue; so much depends on how sales are being done, what items are being used, etc. If I were a painter or printmaker and had a table at a con, I'd probably be on safer ground, practically if not legally, making a picture of Buffy in character than I would drawing a completely original picture of Medusa with a face that looked too much like SMG's.
@DaddycatALSO

Faces are copyrighted?
