The best ever cover songs on TV and film. "And I need you today, oh Mandy".

"Everybody Wang Chung-fun tonight". Angel/DB is so lovably awkward when he sings!
Yeah this is DB at his most lovable and awkward best. I also love that picture of Lorne and the Angel puppet. (I don't believe I've ever seen that before).

Nice article, but I definately don't agree Angel started out to dark and not particularly “fun.” There's plenty of fun in season 1 too. If you aks me the only season lacking it is S4.

BTW If you have never seen The Royal Tenenbaums I'd recommend scrolling down a little bit further to watch its magnificant opening scene.
How cute was he in the blooper credits at the end? DB has one of the greatest smiles I've ever seen.
S4 had 'Spin the Bottle'...which I thought was fun.

And what about Angel and Connor's "Oh Jasmine"? Both fun and a cover.
And what about Angel and Connor's "Oh Jasmine"? Both fun and a cover.

Yeah, you're right Xantastic1316 that certainly was fun.

S4 wasn't entirely lacking in “fun”, the Jasmine arc especially contained some much needed fun, but I do think there was a less of this lighthearted/silly fun in S4 than in the rest of the series. (Which is why S4 is my least favourite season.)
Royal Tenenbaums and Angel AND Wings of Desire all on one list? Love it!

And yeah, I loved all the karaoke moments in Angel--one of the best things about Season 2. I missed Caritas in the later seasons.

(Though that's Otto Sander in the Wings of Desire pic, not Bruno Ganz.)
If it's true that Lorne was limited as a character, I never knew it. I couldn't get enough of him. After Angel lost his cool around S3, Lorne was my favorite.
I'd have picked 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' from Across the Universe.

Kairos: agreed :) I never knew it either.
"We Are the Champions" is probably my favorite Karitas number. But the song that Lindsey sings after he gets his hand back... that's the one that sticks in my head. Except I can't remember the name.
What about ASH's cover of Freebird?
that would be "L.A. Song." I love that one. (And everyone's reactions after he sings it ... the teams' grudging admiration, Angel's petty jealousy ... good times. :-)
Best song from Angel was Lorne doing Stevie Wonder's Superstition. Why keep playing Boreanaz sucking (I know, he was supposed to, but I happen to enjoy good singing)?
Lorne's Superstition...and Lady Marmalade...and It's Not Easy Being Green. Andy Hallet's singing voice is truly beautiful.

And Christian Kane's L.A. Song is lovely. Been meaning to check out more of his stuff.

Oh and Tony Head too. I still haven't found an audio rip for Behind Blue Eyes.

And how about that cover of Wild Horses from The Prom? I thought it was really pretty.

Xantastic1316 Funny you should mention "Behind Blue Eyes" - there's a site called BeeMP3 that has free downloads, and I just saw that tonight. (They actually list "Rupert Giles" as the artist!) You can also find The Sundays' version of "Wild Horses" there.

I'm surprised there hasn't been an Angel album released that's just music used on the show, like they did with "Radio Sunnydale." "Angel: Live Fast Die Never" is great, but there's not a lot of actual songs on it.

oversharechick I have to agree with you, as well. They didn't let Tony sing enough on that show, gorramit. Even "Exposition Song" from "Restless" is fantastic. I still wish he'd release the "Anthony Head Unplugged" album he talked about - just him and his guitar. I'd die happy.
