Morena Baccarin addresses Avengers casting rumours. "All I will say is I will never turn down an opportunity to work with [Joss]".

I hope she is in it. I think she's fantastic.
It's very much not a no.
Though it's also pretty much what she'd say if she hadn't been approached (but wanted to be) too. As the article says, Morena certainly looks the part and we know she's got the chops so it'd be great to see her in there.
I really hope there's at least one notable Whedonverse alum in the movie (ie. as much as I like Jeremy Renner, someone a bit more tied to Joss). It won't feel like a Joss movie without a recognisable face.
It's unfortunate that the reason she looks like the character (which I really hope she gets to play!) is that awful haircut. Back in the Firefly days...
I doubt the validity of this, but it certainly would be great to see Morena as the Wasp even if it is just for a tiny cameo.

I much prefer the short hair on Morena. It's very fresh and absolutely attractive.
Though I'm not super into the long hair, it just occurred to me that it makes her a great fit. Although, I always imagined a younger Jamie Lee Curtis for Wasp myself.
I too like Morena's short hair. Although I like long hair on myself as a man and on women as well it is nice to see the greater amount of a beautiful person's face that is revealed more frequently with shorter hairstyles.
For me it kinda depends on how young they are going to go with the character. If we are talking early Janet Van Dyne, and as this is basically an origin movie then I'd assume that we are, then Autumn Reeser would be ideal for the role. Especially with her current No Ordinary Family hairstyle.
Autumn Reeser would be good in anything though.
My sister would be right for it.
@Leaf, very true! ;)

And of course if she's playing the Wasp, it would be a *tiny* cameo.
If was a choose just one Whedon alumni to the movie, I would go with Allan T, but Morena could be fan, if no one asks her to scream...
Autumn and Morena could probably both be considered, since they both are/were involved in television produced by ABC, which is Disney, which owns Marvel, so yay. :)
Now, now. Let's not discount tharpdevenport's sister from the running in this hypothetical part. She's got Whedon connections too, right? Cuz... Joss sometimes posts here and...uh, tharpdevenport is a member here... and that's like, practically the most nepotistic opportunity ever right there! ; )
Does this mean that I could also be up for the part? I mean okay, penis, but still... :)
@goingtowork - I may be wrong but I think she wore hairpieces and wigs during Firefly.

and @ Brazilian Chaos Man- did you see her in V? She screamed pretty good. Bone-chilling in fact.
I have no shame -- my sister is one of those struggling actresses/models. She recently body doubled for Ashley Greene (she new-age actress chick in films, appearently), and when I posted pics of her at a whedon board back when "Wonder Woman" was on his large plate, just 'bout everybody put their big thumbs up.

Free promotion is the best kind, I say.

Well... how much do you want it ?

;-)
Annnnd SCENE!

Saje, without a doubt, the jewel of The Black.
Pfft and pshaw (but ta ;).
Sorry for being this late, madmolly, but I was exactly joking about the end of V, that, to me, was terrible, including Morena's scream. Maybe I'm totaly wrong, since you liked ;)
