Mark Ruffalo on the Hulk: "... He's a cross between Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Frankenstein." The thesp talks to IGN UK Edition about his thoughts and preparations for playing Dr. Bruce Banner and his very green alter ego in Joss Whedon's superhero mash-up "The Avengers."

Mark Ruffalo was the only actor I had reservations about on first hearing about the cast, not because he isn't talented, more because of his physicality. But he's making all the right noises and given that they've chosen to have him actually play the Hulk too, his non-nerdy physicality could well end up being an advantage. Just sounds like he's really thinking about the role and taking it as seriously as he would any other part which is encouraging.

(i'm so encouraged i'm not even going to pedantically observe that it's Frankenstein's monster *reads that back*... Oh. Bugger ;). Actually, thinking about it, he might even mean Doctor Frankenstein since Bruce Banner has a hand in creating the Hulk as well as being him)
