Otherwise a good article but it really bugs me that it starts with two sentences that are so completely false about the nature of the Firefly 'verse.

Issues aside, I'm excited for more tales in the Serenity-verse, and I do get the feeling that Joss is holding back on doing a full-on continuation in comic format because he's still holding onto hope for more movies.

It's all quite elementary, you see.

I think they must be referring to Simon and River since their parents refused to go against the Alliance and essentially abandoned them when Simon decided to save River. It's a terrible word to use considering their parents aren't dead but I'm pretty sure that's what they meant.

Honestly, I'm a bit scared to hope. I love Serenity and I want a second movie so badly (especially if it included flashbacks so Wash could be in it too) but I don't want to have any high expectations in case it really doesn't happen.

Both true from a certain point of view.
Official Map of the Verse back
The verse involves six star systems even if some of them a pretty darn close to each other. I blame Blue Sun.
White Sun system
Georgian Sun system
Red Sun system
Kalidasa Sun system
Old Sol system
Blue Sun system
