Summer Glau Gets Physical as a New Superhero on 'The Cape'. MSN's Wonderwall chats on set with Summer about her background as a dancer, becoming a superhero, and having loyal fans. Update: For a companion article from MSN TV go here.

Update: Go here for a bevy of (spoiler-y) clips from the show's 2-hour Jan. 9th premiere.

We posted about the same subject at the same time. Only minutes apart. Great minds right? Either way I will be tuning in.
I totally forgot she was in this. I think it's my most (only) anticipated new winter show.
Summer Glau kicks ass with extraordinary grace.
She does at that Pointy. Not seen even a single clip of this (cos **spoilers** !) and yet i'm really looking forward to checking it out, sounds potentialy.
Summer Glau and fighting equals me glued!! Consider this top of my list! there just isn't enough compelling tv with female ass kickers on these days. Nikita is okay if you don't want plot, ot acting or anything other than pretty people beating on each other...and so I watch it! This looks better.
I'm really looking forward to this!
I'm excited for this show and to not have to listen to Faith Hill's annoying Sunday Night Football song anymore, though I do loves me some Sunday Night Football. I loves me some Summer Glau much more.
I'm not usually compelled to check out a show just because an actor I like is in it, but Summer is irresistible. So I'm doubly excited that this show sounds like something I would have watched anyway.
We'll be doing a discussion thread for it on the night of the premiere. I have to say The Cape reminds of this which is not necessarily a good thing.
They know what they're doing these creative types - a show called 'Night' wouldn't make sense. Nor would a show called 'Man'. But combine the two ?

And nothing strikes fear into the hearts of evildoers like the saxophone, just ask any super-villain. Jazz improv is their kryptonite.
That's a good one Simon. Also kinda reminds me, in tone (solely based on previews), of Birds of Prey. Also not good. But I will go in open-minded.
Geez, Simon, way to spoil my enthusiasm. :)

(And I'm afraid jazz improv does have kryptonite-like effect on me, so maybe I'm evil after all.)
MSN TV just posted another, very interesting article about the show here.

ETA:

Guess we'll just have to wait and see how effective a hurdy gurdy is in comparison...

The hurdy-gurdy is easily one of the funniest instruments to say so I suspect it probably is quite effective at fighting evil. Stands to reason.

Ahahh ! Unmasked at last !
This thread is off the front page, but I had to come back & say that I heard the most dreadful promo for this on the radio today. It was one of those "dj reads a script" promos, and it went something like this: "Superhero and comic book shows seem stupid but they really are about characters and this show is about a regular guy like you & me except he wears a cape. He doesn't have any superpowers and don't worry it's really not like science fiction at all. It's about a regular guy. And he looks good in a cape. And he's just a regular guy. Really please watch it because it's nothing like a stupid science fiction show."

I may be paraphrasing just the teensiest bit, but that was the gist. Very annoying.
Yep, sounds pretty aggravating - every time I start to hope we might be past that sort of attitude up it pops again. You wouldn't think we live in a world where at least six of the top ten (and about 15 of the top 20) grossing films of all time are SF&F cos in that world we wouldn't be having this conversation right ?

Having this shared aggravation has made me question whether you really are evil jcs ;).
