The most exciting severed hands of all time. Buffy and Angel can seemingly appear on any list these days.

I wrote a grocery list the other day, neither Buffy or Angel were on it.

For once.
O_o

I had a dream last night about playing with severed hands (with George Eads). Granted, I looked at some behind-the-scenes pics of CSI before sleeping, but this is ridiculous.
They missed Alex Krycek in X-Files.
LOL @ the tags.

I thought have thought Spike's severed hands from "Damage" would have warranted a mention too, although maybe they weren't appropriate for the list.
They didn't really do anything though did they ? Apart from not decompose which would be a bigger deal if he wasn't already dead and what not. And he also wasn't really a "no-handed hero" from what I remember.

Was all poised with my "No Evil Dead II ? List fail" comment but then it turned up in the one-handed heroes section. Not the daftest list we've seen and 'Life Serial' did have a full-on proper zombie hand so why not ?

It's OK, i'm always forgetting to put things on my list too.
no mention of the creepy doctor dude from Angel season 1? he detached both his hands and an eyeball

Same here. I'm still a bit miffed that they didn't mention the best visual pun ever, though. After Ash chops his hand off, he puts a can over it and weights it down with a book... A Farewell To Arms.

I can't believe they forgot to include Fork Guy from "Teacher's Pet"! ...Actually I can. But what about Wesley from "Birthday"?

Yeah, that was a nice bookend ( ;) to round off all the 'Three Stooges' slapstick in the scene leading up to it (that's why - even though he's a 'One-handed Hero' for longer and *gravel voice* "Chainsaw" is a classic moment - i'd have it in there for the hand itself personally).
I think the list deserves an internet for a having such a great title. And another for pointing out such a glaring hole in my education. That's what I get for not taking the Severed Hand elective in college. Maybe I should have been a Humanities major? I think I only knew about... four of these? *checks* Make that seen four and knew about two others. *hangs head in shame* Clearly, I should take a night class.

That's the sort of thing you want to keep at arm's length.
The Mummy's hand in "Life Serial" also has to qualify as one of the funniest. It took on a life of its own as it crept like a small creature to elude Buffy, went for her throat, tapped its fingers while waiting, and finally took a bash from Buffy as it's swan song. In Season 6, which had many dark moments, it was a light-hearted moment.

And let's not forget about "The Judge's" detached arm that also went for her throat.
+1 for creepys talker doc. Way cooler than the ep they listed.
The Life Serial mummy hand, Spike's in Damage, the I Fall to Pieces doctor, Lindsey's "Kill. Kill. Kill." hand, the Tenth Doctor's severed hand in a jar that got mucho screen time in two shows, Luke's severed hand on Bespin and the one that Obi Wan Kenobi slices off in the Mos Eisley Cantina with his lightsaber spring immediately to mind.

And I'm suddenly reminded that Star Wars is absolutely famous for its frequency of severed hands.

Oh, and how did I forget THING!!!

And... "Eldrad must live!"

Ah, I thought of a classic they didn't! Captain Hook's hand was eaten by the crocodile!

Wow. That's a lot of evil severed hands! I wonder what analysts might say about that.
How does it make you feel when you wonder what analysts might say about that ?
Disconnected. A little cut off.

Xane are you saying you feel detached?
Or just a little bit ? Semi-detached ?
I clicked that link all armed with complaints about how it would be handing out spoilers to readers of A Song of Ice and Fire and The Wheel of Time, but it seems there's quite a handful of examples without any need for me to point my finger. I have to hand it to them, this was handled well. Thumbs up.

They could have made room for the little Hamburger Helper dude, though.
**claps** (one-handed, obviously ;)
I can't figure out what sound you're making, Saje.
Oh, so this is what it sounds like when the doves cry.

"How do you explain the zombie soul-sucking effect?"

Oh Summer. Seeing her in this right after watching The Cape has me a bit worried. I miss T:SCC.
I used to think these lists that these sci-fi websites pump out were amusing.

Now I don't even know why.

I know. It's like, all that discrimination against other body parts just puts a person right off. Where's the eyeballs for Pete's sake? Where's their list?
Eyeballs do pretty well actually (there's 'The Eye', there's.. err... the remake of 'The Eye'...). Ears are never given a fair hearing though, just once i'd like to see a character get an ear transplant from a serial killer but one who was, like, a really bad listener - i'm already horrified at all those poor sorority girls being completely ignored, even when they're totally opening up and really sharing something here asshole !

I can't figure out what sound you're making, Saje.

It's similar to when Bart Simpson did it. Except i've got more fingers.
The eyes totally have it.
I just saw the Buffy episode in which Giles & Anya seek out Beljoxa's eye! It was actually composed of numerous eyes....

Of course I watch the Buffy reruns on Logo, even though I have all the DVD's & access to Netflix streaming. Interrupted with commercials & cut for time, it's still Whedon on TV. Just as I watched Firefly on Ovation.
