Be cast as an extra in the Avengers. If you live in New Mexico, or are like me and would gladly relocate if possible -there's a Film and Media day hosting open casting calls for the Avengers, as well as a few other shows.

It still feels unreal Joss Whedon is directing the Avengers. I keep forgetting that he's part of the team. Dammit, could he please direct an X-Men movie and give a fresh reboot? Sighs. Anyways, I have high hopes for this movie because of the director. I just hope more female characters will be casted in larger roles and become key players in movie!MU, like in the comics.

Still no announcement on Michigan dates, but according to featurefilmcasting.com, principals casting in Michigan will be with Pound & Mooney Casting in Madison Heights and extras casting with Ryan Hill in Southfield. (As far as I can tell this is old news, but I can't find anything about it here through search.)
I hope some Whedonesque member goes to New Mexico for this, I would like regular reports! I wish it could be me.
I live in Michigan and have a film production background. I'd be willing to sacrifice a finger or two to be on set when they come here.
I live in Wisconsin and at the time lived only about an hour & a half from where they were filming Johnny Depp's Public Enemy (When they were shooting in Manitowish Waters & Little Bohemia). I emailed the extras casting director, explaining my acting background, but never heard from her.

So my advice is if someone's truly interested in trying to get a part, contact the casting directors RIGHT NOW and keep contacting them until you hear one way or the other. Email, phone, write a letter, hell go to the office if you're close enough. I have a nagging suspicion that I waited too long to contact, but I had to wait until they were filming in my area to know what they were looking for. (I knew age, height, weight, etc but not how many males and how many females for that particular part of the shoot.)

Good luck!
