Happy birthday Emma Caulfield. What's your favourite Anya moment?

Happy birthday, Emma!
My favorite moment is in The Gift, where she screams upon seeing a plush bunny in the basement. Cracks me up every time.
No contest for me: it's where she breaks down in Willow/Tara's dorm in "The Body." When she talks about how she doesn't understand the whole mortal thing and her voice cracks at the end when she says, ". . .and no one will tell me why." I bawl like a baby every time I watch that scene. Happy birthday, Emma! You rock!

Happy Birthday Emma!
Have to go with the Bunnies song in OMWF. And her speech in The Body.
Any time Anya is on screen is my favourite Anya Moment.

Happy Birthday, Emma! Thanks for playing one of my most favouritest characters, ever!
Happy Birthday Emma!

My favorite is a silly little moment. I get a kick out of the scene in season 5 when Dawn, Xander and Anya are playing the game of Life. I love that she wanted to sell the kids for more cash. LOL!
Happy Birthday Emma
While The Body was certainly the most moving Anya moment, I always get a great smile out of the scenes between Anya and Giles in Tabula Rasa. Her random British slang are just adorable.
I Was Made to Love You:
"At first the idea of computers was like..."whoa, I'm eleven hundred years old". I'm still getting used to the idea of Lutherans." Or something like that.

Also, ditto on "the Body".
When she's complaining about Spike getting a pass for his actions. "Forgiveness makes us human blahdy blah blah..."

Happy birthday Emma.
The Body speech, of course. But I do tend to flash on her speech to Xander when 'asking' him to The Prom.

Anya: You know, you can laugh, but I have witnessed a millennium of treachery and oppression from the males of the species, and I have nothing but contempt for the whole libidinous lot of them.

Xander: Then why you talking to me?

Anya: [averting her eyes] I don't have a date for the prom.

Xander: Well, gosh! I wonder why not. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with your sales pitch?

Anya: Men are evil... Will you go with me?

Xander: One of us is very confused, and I honestly don't know which.
Anya: When I lost my powers I got stuck with this persona, and now I have all these feelings. I don't understand it. I don't like it. All I know is I really want to go to this dance and I want someone to go with me.
Anya: Look, I know you find me attractive. I've seen you looking at my breasts.

Xander: Nothing personal, but when a guy does that it just means his eyes are open.

Anya: Whatever. Look, do you wanna go with me or not?

[Xander's eyes lower for a second, then flick back up to Anya's face.]

And, scene. Happy Day, Emma. We'll always love ya.
Happy, Happy Birthday, Emma! Anya gave approval to women being odd and still beautiful!

Favorite Anya moment?
"To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie." Makes me laugh every time!
Anya in The Body, that was the only scene I cried in, but I laugh always when she shows up at Xander's basement room and she drops her dress and Xander squeezes the carton of drink.
Anya: Well he doesn't traditionally bring presents so much as you know, disembowel children, but otherwise...
"You kill the best! Go you!"

So many great moments, big and small.
Anyas total honesty makes the moment in the Body extra painful. On the funny side the "getting used to the idea of Lutherans" thingy is hilarious.
Favourite moment: all of them.

But especially

"Don't be a dope."
"I'm a dope?"
"Well, that's something."

Happy birthday Emma!
I love Anya. Probably my biggest criticism of Buffy was the way she was sort of pointlessly killed. I don't mind when characters I love get killed, but the death should have narrative significance equal to the character's significance, and hers did not pass that test..

On a more positive note, I love the Body speech and the Lutheran line. And all her other little moments.

Happy birthday, Emma. You are terrific.
In the opeonign episode of Season 30, "Kind Hearts and Crossbows," where Cordy has just made her moving speech about how Willow falls in love with souls, not bodies and Anya says "Guess Tara's lucky their cats can't talk," freaking Xander badly.
Oh, right, that hasn't been filmed, has it?

Seriously, I couldn't pick a favorite; all the above were great examples.

Squishy: I have to agree with you narratively. I won't say what I think the motives were since I'd get to personal. Morally, Anya, like Angel and Spike, has done a great deal of evil so she has to add in soem suffering. Also, everyone in the quartet who raised Buffy has suffered.
(Almost) every moment you'all said above ; > but I'll add two more: her NSFW gesture in "Hush", and almost every single second of "Selfless" - especially the Viking flashback "Sjornjost, 880."

I love Anya - she's tied w/ Willow for my favorite Scoobie.

Oh, yeah, gotta add - I love any scene in which Anya displays her unabashed greed - her delight in acquiring money and objects is so oddly charming.
There are so many excellent Anya moments-too many to choose just one.
A couple of my favorites:

"I have finesse. I have finesse coming out of my bottom. I can completely lie to the health inspector. I can, you know, distract him with coy smiles and-and bribe him with money and goods."

Anya: What a day. Gimme a beer.
Waiter: ID.
[Anya glares at him]
Waiter: ID.
Anya: I'm eleven hundred and twenty years old. Just gimme a frickin' beer!
Waiter: ID.
Anya: [sigh] Gimme a Coke.

SPIKE: Anya, do be specific and tell a fellow just exactly what you're doing here.

ANYA: Well, Spike... I'm here, obviously...

SPIKE: (sits up, retracts) Uh, beg pardon.

ANYA: (kneels beside bed, holding stake) You and me. Here and now. Let's go. Let's... get it on, you big bad boy.

SPIKE: Wait, wait, Anya. Just a minute. This is not exactly—is that a stake?

ANYA: Yes. Kinky. (puts the stake down)

SPIKE: Uh, well, yeah, but what do you—?

ANYA: Shh. (presses her finger to his lips) No questions. No talking. I can't help it. I can't stop thinking about you and us and our brief but unforgettable time together. I mean, it's—why else would I be here? I mean, it's not like I'm snooping around looking for proof that you're some sort of wacked out serial killer. (laughs) I don't know why I said that. Forget I said that. It's craziness talking. It's just nerves. Nerves. Nerves and-and horniness. Oh, just shut up, William, and take me. Take me now. (breathes hard)

Anya has slowly inched closer and closer to him while she talked. She leans over his chest, and kisses his neck. Spike has backed away as far as he can, but there's a wall preventing further retreat, so he just lies there, still and unresponsive. Anya notices the utter lack of reciprocation and sits up.

SPIKE:(sighs) Anya.

ANYA: Hmm?

SPIKE: It's not that I'm not tempted. Obviously, if things were different, you're a right catch.

ANYA: I got it. No problem, I understand. (beat) You think I'm fat.

SPIKE: What?

ANYA: Well, it's either that or the haircut.

SPIKE: Ridiculous. The do's quite fetching.

ANYA: Oh, right. Now you like the haircut.

SPIKE: Love it.

ANYA: Sure, as a friend.

ANYA:You know, you were a lot more fun when you didn't have a soul.

SPIKE:Oh, come on. Now, I've just explained to you—

ANYA: All I'm saying is soulless Spike would have had me upside down and half way to happy land by now.

SPIKE: I need my pants.

Anya throws him his pants poutily, but she doesn't move.
Anya in a bunny suit! Happy Birthday Emma.
"Upside down and halfway to happy land"

I do miss Anya, but of all the brutally honest characters(Spike, Anya and Cordy) I liked Cordy the best. Anya was fun though. I didn't like the way Joss killed her off either
Though she was often used as comic relief, nothing beats Emma's performance in "The Body". I (of course) love Buffy but that was an episode that truly trancended the series, and she was no small part in that.
Happy birthday Emma!

It's hard to pick a favorite Anya moment and so many great ones have already been mentioned. Suffice it to say, Anya was a fantastic addition to the Scooby Gang.
