Someone at the Daily Mail just saw "Our Mrs Reynolds". And rather gives away the twist.

Christ leave the woman's body alone! Although, Daily Mail...don't know why I bothered reading.
"Killer role: The then unknown Christina played seductive assassin Saffron, who shared a naked kiss with Captain Malcolm Reynolds on their wedding night, before killing him"

Huh.. It would be nice if they had their facts right. She didn't kill him, she poisoned him and he passed out. Ugh..

There's also the whole "why are you so adamant to refer to her being nude as news"? And "now finally images have surfaced"? Dude, they've existed -since 2002-! Sigh..

And before that she was in Playboy (though in a bikini, not naked). Clearly their research consisted of watching the clip on YouTube. It's the 'Daily Mail' though, accuracy and avoiding frothing at the mouth over nothing isn't exactly their strong suit. I'm just surprised they didn't find a way to link Christina's curvy figure to Polish immigrant workers.
Yeah, the article is hilariously stupid for so many reasons.
Its an amusing irony that the Daily Mail blasts the sexualisation of women (normally when it's 'done' by themselves, such as provocative performances by Britney, Aguilara etc) but then they do this...

Although Saje I do hear Polish immigrants are taking our wives and Mad Men DVDs to leer at Christina Hendricks and then dress our wives up as her.
wait you mean to tell me that *intsert random currently popular actor/actress here* actually used to do something else? Come on that's just silly talk right there! What's next - are you going to tell me that there used to be really epicly awesome tv-shows about vampires too? You know - with vampires that didn't sparkle or go to high school...

I know right ? They come over here, stealing our lecherousness... ;-)
I like how the images are copyrighted to some celeb news agency and not 20th Century Fox.
Why, oh why, is there such a focus on her body? It seems nearly every article about her has to mention that she is "full figured." I feel like we are back to the days where people commented about Amber Benson being heavy playing Tara. Can't we just appreicate how good an actor Christina is?
I find it amusing that Firefly would have been watched by more people than Mad Men on broadcast.
Now images have been unearthed

That's some fine investigative journalism there.
Just wait till the Daily Mail discovers that 'Castle' lead Nathan Fillion was in Firefly.
Ah, the Daily Fail.

It would be nice to hear her being praised for her acting ability for once...
So, wait, do these rags get together and decide it's "Exploit Christina with a Series of Stunningly Poorly-Written & Inaccurate, Body-Focused Articles Day?"

As Chris Bridges pointed out on twitter, this second article makes the exciting claim that essentially "Christina Hendricks' breasts saved Firefly from total obscurity".

Um, 'cos that's totally true.
Ashley,

What the Mail's doing here is alerting us to the sexualization of women.

They don't enjoy it, but someone has to do it, and without them this country would be a hotbed of perversion.

So back off, OK?

Yeah, I for one thank them for their firm stance against common sense and tolerance. Those're the first few steps down the slippery road to hell, ask anyone.

(Ah, Daily Mail, you may see yourselves as the people's champions but i'll always fondly view you as one of the few British newspapers to overtly support Oswald Mosley. Plus ca change...)

And also appeared naked. They should get their crack YouTube clips department on it, stat.
Which YouTube clips department is that again?
The crack one.

(that was, as they say in the biz, a callback)

ETA: There's got to be something apple related in there too. *leaves as exercise for reader*

ETAA: Nope, I couldn't let it lie and after an exhaustive investigation there is in fact no apple related humour to be found so we're left with crack.

Wait, are you saying Mad Men didn't get Serenity made?!
It's amusing to see the rest of the world discover Firefly from the viewpoint of Christina Hendricks' breasts.

Just wait until Sarah Michelle Geller's new show is on, and somebody, somewhere realizes that she's been on tv before.
Haha! Oh wow...thanks for the memo, Captain Obvious! Breaking news: Christina Hendricks was also in a critically acclaimed, cult show! And did you know she was pretty!?

Maybe you can supply us with some more info that's 10 years old?
Jobo, no, Serenity is of no interest to Mad Men fans because it has no nekkid Christina. If only Vincent Kartheiser were a)female and b) nekkid, they might have discovered Angel too.

Gah really? Eastenders living in slums saw threw that guy. Although why I'm in the least bit surprised I don't know.

This still remains the most accurate piece ever written about the Mail.

As for on topic why now? Man Men has been popular for years, the Firefly eps have been around for nearly 10 years and suddenly it's a big thing? There are slow news days and then there's this popping up everywhere. What's next, investigative reporters detailing the next American Pie film discover that Alyson Hannigan once played a gay wiccan on Buffy?
I'm waiting for the story that reveals that Joss did work pre-Avengers.

If that turns out to be the case, maybe some of it might be worth checking out?
Who is Joss?

Heh, nice little bit ;). And yep, Lord Rothermere (who owned the Mail at the time) thought Hitler and Mussolini (and by association, Mosley) were a couple of sterling fellows and so so did the Daily Mail for a while (and somewhat more surprisingly, the Daily Mirror - he owned or co-owned that too at one point).

As you say Heavs most ordinary people saw through them though - the commoners having more savvy than a Lord ? Why the very idea's preposterous ! ;)
