Jo Chen's cover art for "Serenity Volume 2: Better Days And Other Stories". This special expanded second edition will be out on September 7th.

Relevant info from Comics Continuum:

Serenity: Better Days, from Joss Whedon and Brett Matthews, follows everyone's favorite space cowboys in an action-packed adventure, where the crew takes on a heist that promises a big payoff. But when someone is taken captive, the gang must put aside their enduring differences and work together, at the risk of losing their cash prize. Joss Whedon is joined by a great roster of writers including comedian Patton Oswalt,

Dr. Horrible and The Shepherd's Tale cowriter Zack Whedon, and Jim Krueger (Avengers/Invaders) in this special expanded edition, making a complete hardcover Serenity library to match The Shepherd's Tale and Those Left Behind!

128 pages, $19.99, in stores on Sept. 7.

Ah, excellent. Weird that ComicsContinuum does have this listed, and CBR and Newsarama don't. Not like it's way at the end and could be accidentally cut off.

(And yet, no sign here either of The Finder Library vol.2, which is on the Diamond order form.)
Yippee! Now my shelf won't look weird with 2 hardbacks and the one little paperback! And just in time for my birthday too!
It will indeed be nice to finally have that Binder with the Number "2" on it. Been waiting on this for years, literally.

Now, What will the SECOND Serenity Trilogy consist of?

-Yeah, I'm an optomist!
So I'm assuming in addition to Better Days, this is also going to contain The Other Half, Downtime, and Float Out...?
That is absolutely gorgeous. Jo Chen is seriously amazing.
Her covers are always so very nice.
I so love seeing Jo Chen's art work, she's spot on with the characters.
Matt7325, yup. The listed credits on the cover confirm that.
I'm glad The Other Stories are getting a bundled release. But I do think DH is milking it somewhat by not just making it a volume 4 without Better Days.
tmvde, those additional stories account for about 40 pages in total - not enough for a hardback really (although having said that, The Shepherd's Tale was 48).

I'm hoping the two web stories get packaged together in a one-shot at some point (as well as the Buffy season 8 web stories) for those of us who got the single issues rather than the collections. I get the impression that the idea is to wait until there's enough of them to make one justifiable.
@daylight, well just one extra short story would have brought the total up to 48 and I didn't say a volume 4 would have to be a hardback, could have been a tpb.
Oh, I missed the fact that The Other Half and Downtime were things that existed.

I guess the theory must be though, that if they've been releasing hardback versions of the books (I'd only seen the Shepard one) then people would like their book shelves to have some uniformity. And I guess they don't plan on commissioning any time soon further one shots that could be bundled with those other stories I missed.
orangewaxlion - "The Other Half" is an 8 page story by Jim Krueger and Will Conrad that was published online in issue 13 of MySpace Dark Horse Presents and was collected in the third MDHP tpb. "Downtime" was an 8-page short story by Zack Whedon and Chris Samnee that was serialized in two parts on the USA Today website prior to the release of "The Shepherd's Tale."
Wow, I totally missed this announcement. Have now pre-ordered a copy.

I never did get to read "Downtime" or "Float Out" so this will be quite a treat. Though, I hope that we'll be seeing future volumes sometime.
