CBS President Nina Tassler on how SMG's pilot 'Ringer' landed at the CW. Calls SMG "a force to be reckoned with".

Tassler on how "Ringer" went to The CW: "I can only speak from my point of view. I don't how what happened behind the scenes at The CW but I know for us we were really excited about developing the show. It was a spec script that we got our hands on. We thought it was a very unique concept. We were really excited about Sarah Michelle Gellar. And it could have been on our schedule. I mean, like I said, we had no more time periods. And it tested well, it screened well, people really liked it... and Sarah Michelle Gellar is a force to be reckoned with. I mean she's got a huge fanbase. I kid you not, when we bought the script the e-mails started coming in: pick it up. I'm like, we just bought it."

So... is it official, yet? Because last I heard you had said it was picked up, then it wasn't picked up, then only one report from an outsider has said it's picked up.

So where do we officially, actually stand on this?
It's official. TheCW picked it up last night.
It is picked up. But Tassler never actually tells how it ended up on the CW.
The CW announces their fall schedule tomorrow.
I love that Sarah's considered "a force to be reckoned with".
Yep, Ringer is officially picked up but we won't know its timeslot til the CW's upfront tomorrow. I'm predicting Tuesdays at 9.
I'm just glad it's CW. If it was CBS, it would be mid-season.
I'm predicting Wednesdays at 8. :) I also think it will be their highest rated scripted show next year.
I can't decide if I'm happy about it being on CW rather than CBS. On one hand, it has a better chance of succeeding by CW standards. On the other, being a hit on the CW is not the same as being a hit on CBS.

Hum... Why? That doesn't make any sense. It's ANTM timeslot. Tuesdays at 9, like Brierly said, it's way more likely. Do you have any sort of insider information? I think it should be at Tuesdays at 8pm, where Buffy was.

It wouldn't be a hit on CBS. It's not a CBS-type show. It's not a CW-type show either, but at least it probably can survive there even if it needs to have a smaller budget.

I have no inside info. That's where I put it on my mock schedule. I think it can strongly open a night and ANTM originals have been airing at 9pm this spring with encores on at 8.

I also think they will move 90210 to Tuesdays at 9 following the show that will never die and will not be named so that Hart of Dixie and Gossip Girl can air together on Mondays (both from Josh Schwartz). Then both of Williamson's shows (Vamp Diaries and Secret Circle) can air together on Thursday and Nikita moves to Fridays with Supernatural.

I may be smoking crack but hopefully we'll know that by the end of the day. :)
You won't know for sure if you're smoking crack? Oh, I see... ;)
Are we starting a time slot pool? I'll pay in my two internets and take Wednesdays at 9.

Oh, and really looking forward to checking out SMG playing two people. :-)
You can afford two internets?! Who are you, Sergey Brin?
Heh. I do wear The Black (mask) for a reason--but I swear I'm not evil!
That sounds like something an evil person would say! :)
I don't think the CW will move ANTM around. It will likely stay at 8, followed by the new reality show H8R.

I could see Ringer on Thursdays at 9 BUT I think they will want to launch The Secret Circle after The Vampire Diaries that night since they come from the same producers.

I see Ringer as a 9:00 show. I don't see it as a Monday show. It obviously won't get the Friday night slot, which will either stay with Supernatural or go to Nikita. That's why I think Tuesdays at 9 is most likely, with either Hart of Dixie or one of the Monday shows as its lead-in.

Just my predictions! I have absolutely no insider info, just thinking about it logically.
^^ Of course, Ringer might be a good fit with Nikita, but that would mean launching Hart of Dixie on Friday (or moving one of the Monday shows to Friday) and I don't see that happening.
Brierly, ANTM is at 9pm now. Right now. That's where it is airing. Not at 8. CW has never had any show (scripted or unscripted) succeed following ANTM. Can't believe they would try it again.

I really wish they would just put their sched out so we could stop speculating. Of course, it could all change by September anyway.
Top Model is on at 9? I thought it was on at 8. Either way, it'll stay on Wednesdays and be paired with H8R.
Love this comment "I mean she's got a huge fanbase. " and seriously, SMG IS a force, she's like TNT wrapped in this tiny delicate and beautiful package.
Tuesday at 9 it is.

Ooh that second one's pretty good, like it (and not just cos SMG's in it twice ;).
Yay I was right! I was right about most of the lineup! Woot!
