[One season later...]

Your Angel has leveled up!

What's this? Your Angel is evolving into an Angelus!

(Use Romani Curse to reverse evolution.)
The man himself tweeted an Angel reference which was:

"What happens to your twitter time line when u die?"

"But than again I'm a 246 year time line with a Soul"

Very nice. The fact that he seems to be sick with a cold, not so much.
I had no idea what was happening in this thread for AGES!! Although it was hilarious, I have no idea where you guys were able to dig out the pokemon thing from. Well done.
Aww, poor wee fella. Great reference though. But isn't he like 25something now?
(Hehe, thanks. I couldn't resist when I read the title of this thread, but I've never actually played a Pokemon game before and I don't think Kairos has either, so my little brother, who does play them, was coaching us through the format.)

In terms of how long he's been on the earth (so, including his human years), Angel started out 270 years old in Buffy S1, because he was born in 1727. In terms of how old a vampire he is, he was 244 when he first walked onscreen, because he was turned in 1753. That would make him 284 years old now total (but not counting his years in hell, since we don't really know how long he was there), and 258 if you're only counting his vamp years.

So, yeah, DB's math was a little off there, but considering that even the writers didn't do much better most of the time, I'm just going to disregard that and be happy that he made a nod to Angel.
haha! Thanks Taaroko. Math makes my head achey, so I just skipped to the end.
Impressed with your brother's adaptive skills. From Pokemon to Buffy in 1 easy post.
Heh. Kairos and I supplied the Buffyverse knowledge; he just filled in what webcomics and memes haven't taught me about the Pokemon gaming process over the years. And about the math, no problem. I might be an English major, but I'm still very obsessive-compulsive about having the numbers right. :P

Have your fun with math as long as you can because Christos Gage will reboot Angel "He's only going to be 148 years old"

I have to say that this has been the most entertaining thread we've had in ages.
Hehe, thanks Simon. For our next trick we'll be rewriting Firefly as a game of Magic: the Gathering.
What?! But everyone knows that in order to make vampires cooler, you reboot them to be older! The older they are, the more powerful they are, the more backstory potential they have, and the more they've seen. Bonus, they don't age, so they can still be whatever physical age you want. Silly Christos Gage. *shakes head*

Cheers, Simon! ^_^

Hah! My brother has played that too! Bring. It. On.
LMAO! Loved the thread. :D
Well, maybe DB knows about Pokemon. He does have a little boy ...
Concerning DB's age issue, I'm only in my 50s and I sometimes forget exactly which 50-something I am. Trying to remember your age when you are 200+ years, not to mention keeping track of your turned age vs. your human age, and that stint in Hell, it's not so surprising that he gets confused.
That would be fine, except that he's so consistent in his age confusion. If he always said a different number in the vague region of his actual age, it would be easier to believe that he just can't remember exactly, but he starts out saying he's 240 and then the age he claims to be (and other characters claim he is) goes up consistently from there, but it doesn't match the dates on his tombstone. The worst offense was when Willow said he was eighteen and still human in 1775, but it's possible that she saw his vampire age in that Watcher diary she and Buffy nicked (which, if it was the same diary Giles consulted in "Angel", was slightly inaccurate about Angel's age anyway), thought it was his total age, and made her calculations from there.
Hey, you're only as old as you feel, so sometimes he feels 240, sometimes 284, sometimes 258.

I'm sure not going to quibble with a guy who still has a yen for human blood, no matter how soulful he may be.
*snicker* Valid point. I kinda feel like I'd be twitchy enough about the math fail to bring it up at least once, though, if he said the wrong number within earshot of me. I'm sure Fred or Willow would have done it if they'd known the dates on his tombstone.
