July 10 2011

Sunday's Whedonverse panels at Comic-Con. Highlights include a Castle panel with Nathan Fillion and Tony Head at the Merlin panel.

11:45-12:45 One-on-One with Castle Star Nathan Fillion

1:00-2:00 International Hit Merlin Returns to Comic-Con with its Popular Cast - Tony Head

2:00-3:00 Cover Story: The Art of the Cover - Jo Chen

2:00-4:00 Browncoats

4:00-5:00 Buffy the Musical

Also the Joelle Jones panel; she did Dr. Horrible comic book artwork.
Except it's not a one on one with Nathan - it's a Castle panel with 6 cast members.
Unless they are using the term "one on one" in a manner I am unfamiliar with, I think this should be "Nathan Fillion solo panel." I could be wrong - maybe they are planning on filing panel attendees into the room one at a time to ask a question and then file out to make room for the next attendee ...

ETA The above comments weren't there while I was composing this post :)

Hey, my day is looking shiny..

First and foremost, I want to add that Jo Chen is there too as part of a larger panel:
"2:00-3:00 Cover Story: The Art of the Coveró Comic-Con's annual Cover Story panel explores what it takes to make a great cover. ...Jo Chen (Buffy the Vampire Slayer covers for Dark Horse), ....."

Jeff Smith, who wrote Bone, is going to be in the SAME panel as Jo Chen. Thus, my 11 year old (a BONE FAN) and I (a Buffy fan) can wait in line and attend together. Wooohoo!

Also,um, will the Merlin panel be tough? I don't know if I can resist the pull of Giles. He was my first favorite character after all.

Finally, since this verse often crosses with the Whoverse, big Dr. Who panel with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. But is Moffat going or not going? I doubt that I am going to this one, unless I know Moffat will be there with spoilers.
Except it's not a one on one with Nathan - it's a Castle panel with 6 cast members.

True but for what ever reason, Comic-Con decided not to describe the title of the panel as that.
Last I heard there was no Moffat at the Who panel. I think we've got Toby Whithouse, Piers Wenger and Beth Willis in addition to Matt and Karen.
@redders Thanks (just saw that my message didn't take)

I wonder if Nathan isn't moderating the panel and asking questions of his castmates. Then the title of the panel would make a little more sense.
IrrationaliTV The panel will be moderated by Will Keck of TV Guide Magazine.
But he's only going to talk to Nathan. :)
Ah! Well I liked my idea better. :)
I believe I will be spending half my day in Room 6BCF because I want to see Castle AND Merlin. SO EXCITED!!
Updated the master list with Sunday panels and the week's The Guild signings.
It's a little goofy that they moved basically the entire Ballroom 20 line-up last year (except for Smallville) into Hall H, but didn't upgrade Merlin and Castle to Ballroom 20.
