It's not easy being green: WB could croak on its new lineup More indications that things aren't going that great at the WB but hopefully it also means they wouldn't dare get rid of Angel, which is considered one of their more successful shows.

As long as The WB has Angel and Gilmore Girls (which my nerves have no problem with, thanks) I'll still be watching. But if they lose those then they might as well be UPN. At least they cancelled that Fearless show, that thing sounded awful. No fear gene? Riiiiiight.
As a rule, I don't like hoping nasty things for others, but I'm hoping that none of these mid-season shows do really well. For good measure, some of them could crash and burn. I want the WB to consider Angel one of its relative successes come renewal decision time.

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but can anyone tell me why it was announced a few weeks ago that Gilmore Girls will be renewed for next season? Why announce that so soon? I don't watch GG, so this is more a "why don't they announce Angel renewal early, too?" kind of a question.
MindPieces - Fearless was based on a book series, and it's definetly one of those ideas that is like Buffy - sounds lame, but actually isn't

that is if they were going to follow the book plotlines
Copied over from my other post ......Looking over next years schedule - I can see that Angel is already back on the bubble for a new season. With the WB announcing a 2 hour made for tv movie each week for the 2004-05 season. The WB only programs 12 hours of primetime TV a week and with 7th Heaven, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, the movie of the week, the Surreal Life, a couple of comedies, a new Dark Shawdows on the horizon next season, you also know soon we'll hear the renewal of Smallville as well being the #2 rated show on the WB we are left with only 3-4 hours of programming left, with competition like Everwood and One Tree Hill competing against Angel for the diwindling hour slots - perhaps 2-3 max cause you know they will want to bring on a couple new comedies. The other shows are far cheaper to produce than Angel. Leaving Angel even with the better ratings this season still at the back of the line depending on the production cost and what FOX will charge for it - may be the key factors towards it's return or some major backing by the affiliates. I'm starting to get nervous again.

As for why the early call for GG - I think some of the execs called for that and 7th Heavens renewal before they quit ensuring that at least some of the shows they had ties to would make it past this season but in doing so they ended up putting Angel on the bubble yet again.
