Web Content Corner with Jane Espenson. An interview with Jane Espenson about her new web series, Husbands.

This is part 1 of a 2-part interview with Jane Espenson about her new web series Husbands, working with Cheeks, and social networking.

Nice Article. Jane is so many different kinds of amazing. Not only has she funded Husbands out of her own pocket, but She, Cheeks, and the team, have delivered a knock-out product.

I was disposed to like this show from the moment I heard about it, partly because of the pedigree involved, but also because it sounded like fun, and a fresh, modern take on a classic formula.

My expectations have been met, exceeded, and driven round the block an extra couple of times, via the scenic route. In just a handful of teeny tiny episodes, they have demonstrated a preternatural ability to pack in an audacious amount of genuine laughs, and yet also show more heart, love, and joie-de-vivre, than a whole slew of hugely budgeted Hollywood Romantic Comedies.

And as a gay man it's so refreshing to watch something that doesn't feel as though it has been sanitised by committee for my approval. It feels honest. And that's liberating. It's wonderful to be able to recommend something to my friends without feeling I have to dish out provisos, or hope they overlook its failings. "Husbands" is a glorious experience.

Looking forward to part 2 of the interview.
