Buffy and Serenity now on Netflix Canada.
After over a year of being operational in Canada, Netflix finally adds Buffy (all 144 episodes) and Serenity to its library.
Still available are Firefly, Angel, Dollhouse, and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

How to determine that is by the inconsistency in the "previously on" recaps:
Buffy seasons 1-3, Angel seasons 2-4 have no recaps just like the North American DVDs.
Buffy seasons 4-7 are widescreen and include recaps, just like the European DVDs (but without the PAL speedup issue the DVDs have)
Angel season 5 did have the few recaps the season had on DVD intact.
The odd one out is Angel season 1:
Hulu in the U.S., the iTunes store and now Netflix all show season 1 of Angel in widescreen and with the recaps intact, which was never released that way on DVD regardless of where you live in the world. If you buy Buffy seasons 4-7 on iTunes you get the same widescreen versions.
Of course Angel season 1 is the same as season 2 and Buffy seasons 4-7, in that it's an "opened up" frame, not meant to actually be seen that way.
Very interesting and confusing. :)

OMG! I so want to see this. I've wanted the widescreen versions but the PAL speedup of the UK DVDs has kept me from buying them. Never occurred to me that iTunes and Netflix would overrule Joss on the widescreen issue.

Season 5 of Buffy, seasons 1, 2 and 5 of Angel are not there yet along with episodes 1 to 5 or so of Buffy season 6.
Just like iTunes and Netflix, the Playstation store offers the same widescreen versions.
