Sport your own Avengers Collectible 3D Glasses. The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America themed glasses will be available at participating movie theaters.

Ok, so just to be clear -- To date, we've got 3-D glasses, Legos, perfume, and costumes (including nifty Thor wig).

What else? I for one was hoping that this link was referring to McDonalds or Burger King giving away Avengers drinking glasses this summer. I'll keep my fingers crossed ;-).
I wonder why they don't have a Nick Fury pair. I'm sure there's a "party in my eye-socket joke" in there somewhere...
Party in my 3D eye socket! Sorry.
Those look cool although I'l admit that I was planning to see it in 2D.Post converted 3D is always a case by case basis for me and I avoided seeing Thor and Captain America in 3D due to word of mouth.Unless the word of mouth is great,I'm still planning to see Avengers in 2D.
I'm not that enthused about 3D generally but could make an exception if it means Thor throws Mjölnir at my face.
If I hear 3D again, I may start breaking limbs.
Old school 3d was fine, but this post avatar 3d makes me queasy.
I wanna do the midnight screening in the gigantic IMAX, so might have to go for 3D as a default. I just wanna be where the geekiest fans are!
Theres alot more merchandise than whats been posted on this site. I've seen pictures of toys, lunch bags, book bags and all sorts of other stuff on super hero hype's boards. I wouldn't be surprised to see Avengers dining sets next or Avengers yogurt.
I like the glasses. Still won't watch in 3-D though. Only way I would have even considered it is if Joss had filmed in 3-D. I might watch the next Avatar in 3-D only because of Cameron but even then...

Not that I like 3D in anyway but imo they should have included Black Widow for a female alternative.
I tend to do 3D because even if I don't think I'll like it, it's an option only available for a short period of time. I have the rest of forever to watch the 2D version on a home TV so I may try to keep the special cinema feel going.
I love that the Hulk Glasses look angry.....
very sci-fi, i would be distracted by the glasses, got me thinking about the glasses cyclops had in x-men 3 and look what happened to him.
When 3D is done properly, the results are spectacular. I don't feel this is the case. Many directors are having this type of filming forced upon them, Joss included. Really, I rather not see that.

Know I'm beating a dead horse, but the issue still grits my teeth.

Well actually that raises a good point. The closer we get to The Avengers' release, the more merchandise/media/tie-ins etc. there will be related to it - and surely something that stuff is going to be stretching the Whedonverse connection, for lack of a better term - i.e. Avengers toothpaste is not really that relevant to Joss or his works. The movie is going to be huge, so just curious if the mods have some plan of action in mind so Whedonesque doesn't get snowed under in purely Avengers stuff for weeks on end?

From the posties side of view, we'll do fine.
I don't really understand the design of the "Thor" glasses. In fact, I thought they were "Spiderman" ones even though that doesn't make sense in this cinematic context.
I imagine we'll be grouping together similar posts that appear around the same time, as usual. Although I plan to post about every flavor of Avengers yogurt separately, so look out for that.

I'm glad you said that bedukay, I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought that! :)
I think the Thor glasses are supposed to represent Thor's chain-mail armor. It kinda looks like it.

But yes, without any further information, just looking at the glasses alone, I would have said Spidey for sure.
Spider-Man's webbing is over the red part of his suit, not the blue part.
I got to admit,I really like the Captain America pair.Still will see it in 2d though unless I hear the conversion job is really good.
