(SPOILER) A very close look at 'The Avengers' trailer. Includes speculation based on known spoilers.

One bit talks about one of the many soldeirs seen in the trailer. It says:
Now, look at the chap on the left of frame. His name is Morbitzer. The poet BJ Morbitzer wrote the following lines:

I will not give up.
I will not turn around.
I am a soldier,
Marching Heaven bound.

Probably just a coincidence, but still.

Raise your hand if you believe Joss more than capable of naming each character with such deliberation?
*Raises hand*
Yeah, I don't believe that's a coincidence. :)

This trailer is a step upward from the first one.
Each character gets some spotlight, Hawkeye finally gets to shoot an arrow, and I really like that it's more a showcase of mood, action, characters and the plot is still being kept under wraps. To many trailers spoil a lot, if not most, plotpoints of the movie.
Interesting breakdown. Say, is that a mecha-Mayor Wilkins in the final shot?
There's been some talk that it's Fin Fang Foom.
The Thor movie explained that the Asgardians are aliens - as is everything else from the Norse Mythos. I'm thinking Loki is bringing around a version of Ragnarok and that little serpent is a version of the Midgard Serpent.
Fin Fang Foom was impersonated by the Midgard Serpent in the Thor comic. I'm thinking Midgard Serpent is more likely since people would probably have a hard time not laughing at the name, Fin Fang Foom.

ETA. I think of movie Thor as more inter-dimensional being than alien.

Tony Stark could just make some snide remark so we could all laugh at the name. Fin Fang Foo- Heh.
I also interpreted Asgard as being another dimension, not an alien world. I even think that's how it was explained in the movie (something about their universes intersecting or something?).
I like the name change - Avengers Assemble makes the best sense for the first of what could be many films. And I like how the Hulk's face looks like it was based on the actor's face rather than just being random.

I don't understand why the bad guy from space has an English accent.
I didn't make it through all the pictures because I almost never saw what the author said he was seeing.
Bad guys always have an English accent. It's like the law.
Watching this trailer ensues a new kind of giddy!
Use the force, Thor. LOL
