And I, too, am curious about that limerick...

"KL: Who did you like together with Buffy the most: Angel, Riley, or Spike?
"JW: You know what, I liked Spike. With Angel it’s too “Romeo and Juliet”. Which means, as soon as it happens you’re bored. Riley, you know he was a well-adjusted person who loved her in a much, much healthier way than the other two guys. Nobody wants to see that. With Buffy and Spike, they had a real Beatrice and Benedick kind of relationship, in “Much Ado About Nothing”. I think with the wedding, she would have tried to do something fast, but he would have made it elaborate and done everything wrong. It would have been extraordinarily counter-intuitive, and awesome!"

Me: "Where is real Joss and what have you done to him?"
But, seriously, this is the first time Joss says something definitive about Buffy ships. Even if he says it only writing-wise, it's huge.

Hah. Bet Joss would've made a better Little Women.

I (shock!) predict more full out dark angst and horror for Spike and his relationship with Buffy. Yup, I've become a psychix reader of my fluffy overlord. Nah, really it's just easy to predict that Whedon torutre those he loves the most. If he's actually liking Spike now, oh man is he in for a rough ride.
And now for some comic book spoilery speculation Illyria, Buffy and Drusilla (is she stopping by?) will tear his limbs from his body in an attempt to secure their one true love or say PET. Then we will get the awesome, an ultimately necessary ROBO!Spike .
Seriously, that has to be one of the most fun interviews that I have read. It sent my mind all kinds of crazy places.

I also loved this:
"By the way, you can kill a demon with just those words, 'Oh for God’s sake!' "
I tried it & it works. Good-bye, Crazy Landlady.
Oh, and this:
"Everything happens during grief. It shouldn’t, but it does."
It's so banally (that looks wrong) true. Just a few hours after my Mom died, I was on the phone, mid-way through telling her very shocked first cousin about her sudden death, and call-waiting signaled. I said, "Oh, sorry, John, I've gotta call you back. That's gotta be the pizza-guy confirming the pizza we just ordered, so I gotta run."
For real. I almost died of embarrassment afterwards, but my sisters nearly wet themselves, laughing at me. It was a very typical hysterical My Family moment (though my niece was terribly shocked by our hilarity) and thus: reassuring, somehow...
Katie & Joss had such a fluid rapport - it really brought out interesting stuff, from both of them.
