The Cabin in the Woods: German release pushed to September. Germans won't be able to visit the Cabin until September 14th. Link is in German but I think that shouldn't be a problem (contains official short plot-description).

Initially, a June 14/Early Summer date was floating around but now the distributor (Universum Film) sent out a press release announcing the delayed release. Sadness ensues.

edit: This is a SECOND delay. The original delay was only until August 23rd but now Universum pushed it back even further. Thanks, Illy for even sadder news. ;)

Nooooooo!!!

Upside, my best friend is in Australia right now and comes back in August, so we can watch it together.
Trust me, Germany, the wait will be worth it
I actually saw a link last week where it said it got pushed back even further, from August 23rd to September 13th. *sad*
Here it is, also in German, but it says it got pushed back further until September the 13th

O man, really? I guess that won't be far off from when the US DVD/BR comes out (which I will be importing) ... so that's a partial silver lining, I guess?

@Illy, I edited the original post with the info you provided.
Oh great. *grumbles* Universum are doing themselves not a favor I doubt everyone is going to wait that long. Im trying to stay spoilerfree but for that long? *sighs*
Myself have given up waiting for it...
In Portugal it doesn't even have a release date. I would love to watch it on the big screen...
Arrgh nooo! Guess the studio wants do dodge "Prometheus" ...
Thank god I watched it in the Netherlands (without stupid dubbing...). I would never have been able to stay spoiler free that long. September?! Crazy Germans.
@veraishq if I lived closer to the border, I would've hopped over to see it already. I find it incomprehensible that, in this day and age, those big companies still can't get simple things like movies, games, music or anything entertainment related released globally at the same time.

Though regardless of whether or not I'll get the US BR/DVD before it hits theaters here, I'll definitely go see it on the big screen once or twice if they show it without dubbing in that new place I found that occasionally does that.
wtf?! Haven't we waited long enough already? -.-
It is very frustrating.. a friend of mine from Belgium watched in on thursday, and he loved it and he can't believe he isn't allowed to talk to me about it until September. Yeah it sucks -_-
In slightly related news, the Swedish release isn't wide enough for me to get to it. It's showing in a handful of places, all of which might as well be on the moon for all the chance I have of getting there without turning tricks for rides.
Okay, let me get this straight. Instead of releasing it as soon as possible with "from the director of The Avengers" in big bold letters on all the publicity material for the movie they push the release back ? Are they trying to win a stupidity contest ?
@Michael ... It's almost "do there have to be horses?" level of stupidity.

At this point, they might as well go for Halloween (midnight showing on the 31st which is a Wednesday so it would fit) ... better not give them ideas, though.
I'm really not impressed. sighs. cant wait to see it. :/
damn you UPI! :(
I can't wait to see it
