Selma Blair auditioned for lead role in TV's Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Mentioned in an Observer interview.

Was this known information? Wasn't Katie Holmes in the running too?

Very interesting tidbit there! Considering Blair and Gellar's co-starring roles in "Cruel Intentions".
Yes, I believe Holmes was also trying to get it.

I mostly know of Blair from Hellboy, where I think she did well.
Yes, this was known information. I'm pretty sure it's in some IMDb trivia or something somewhere.
I gotta dispute one thing. I think there are a lot of people who would jump on a couch for Selma Blair! Seriously though its good to see her get her career on track and into a place of happiness. Hopefully it will be upward and onward for her..
I just find it easier to assume that any Caucasian actress in the age range except for ALyson and ELiza read for it. It seems like that sometimes.

But good to hear about Selma's latest developments.
