Planning against the sequel. Why not every genre movie needs to be a franchise. Cabin In The Woods is cited as a prime example.

"a direct sequel is an outright impossibility". Hmmm, Drew is asked that very question in the Visual Companion book, and he says something along the lines that since this is ficton, they could come up with a way to do a sequel if they wanted to. Not saying that they should, or would.
