A report of the Firefly/Serenity panel at the London Film and Comic Con. Jewel Staite and Adam Baldwin were there and they discussed the upcoming Firefly reunion panel at Comic-Con, favourite moments on the show, who looks best naked, criticisms of Serenity and what they stole from the Firefly set.

That didn't happen to Adam in the comic books. It's in Jose Molina's prose story in Still Flying (which I still maintain takes place in Mal's head).
I've never seen an actor criticise the name of the film before. Certainly there were fans at the time who did that.
Yep, love the movie but agree about the title. It works fine for those who know the 'verse but does not help draw new people in. This is the first time I've seen a cast member mention it, too, though. And while I've learned to "trust the Joss" on storytelling, casting, etc. I would have begged him (before release) to use a different title to give the film more of a fighting chance, as it were, at the box office.
I can't disagree with Adam...the title is great if you're familiar with the Verse or not narrow-minded about film titles being deceptive, but it's very non-descriptive of what's gonna happen in the film.

However, what else could have the film been called? The name Firefly was owned by Fox (the ship's class/model type is never named during the film) in 2004-2005 when the film was made and released, and I can't think of anything that's fitting for a film about our BDHs besides Firefly and Serenity....
