Not sure what the point of this "satirical" article was. Is it making fun of out-of-touch network executives or is it making fun of Joss Whedon for being self-referential and repetitive (which I honestly don't think he is that much)?

I think the joke was that he's pretending to make S.H.I.E.L.D. but he's actually bringing back Firefly.

This would have been a funnier piece had they made the joke broader than simplify referencing Firefly.
