25 little-known facts about 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer'. Although given the membership of this site, maybe it's '25 Sorta-Well-Known Facts'.

I'm not sure how accurate some of these are (Charisma Carpenter as Penny?)

I do not recall Ben Affleck being in Angel or Charisma expressing a desire to be in Dr. Horrible.
David Boreanaz was going to be batman??????
It'd be really interesting to see Dawn with the powers she was supposed to have.
Not sure about the Ben Affleck one. Apparantly he was in the restaurant scene in 'Double or Nothing'. I quickly looked at some screencaps and whilst there is someone who looks similar to Ben, I definitely don't think it's him... :/
There are some really random info, that I think the article writer either made them up, or read-up from very wonky sources and are just not well "little known facts", more like "not real facts at all".
I also debate the Sabrina one immensely, considering it was Melissa Joan Hart (who played Sabrina) and her mother's production company that made the show...
Also, Sarah Michelle Gellar was totally in Dr. Horrible.
David Boreanaz was going to be batman??????

I think he auditioned for the role along with every other actor in Hollywood.
Some of that stuff is completely wrong.

Nathan Fillion auditioned for Angel, not Spike.

David Boreanaz was never offered Batman, I'm not sure about Resident Evil but I doubt that too. He also only improvised lines during the Angelus arc in season 4.

Charisma has expressed the fact that she and Joss have mostly made up way before Dr. Horrible and she really wouldn't have been right for the role.

Also, that write up on Michelle Trachtenberg makes me uncomfortable. (Wasn't she on S2 of Weeds? Doesn't really count towards 'later period' ETA: I only saw MT's S2 scenes, didn't know she did more)

How do you get 'push-koo' as a pronounciation of Dushku? Also uncomfortable making commentary on her decision or not do nude scenes.

Michelle was in the last few episodes of Season Seven of Weeds, but I thought she was pretty great in it.
Odd that he mentions PS I Love You but not that James Marsters was in it.

It would be very odd if Affleck were an extra in a TV show after he became a movie star. He'd already done Chasing Amy and Good Will Hunting at that point.
This list is more like 15 Gossipy Tidbits about the BtVSverse with 10 Fun UnTruths.

Wow. What a waste of AM reading time.
A bit too much snark there and I agree the comment about Eliza and Rick Fox was uncalled for, and some stuff is just incorrect, ie. "If thatís not enough Hannigan for you, Hannigan is also related to Marilyn Mansonís drummer."

Now, this would be weird if true, since Alyson actually dated Gingerfish, Marilyn Manson's drummer, before she met and married Alexis.
Also, Alyson's character on Free Spirit was not a witch. She was a normal teenager, the housekeeper ("Winnie Goodwin", played by Corinne Bohrer) was the witch. So, yeah, some of these are little-known because they do not represent actual facts...
At least Buffy was spelt right.
Did Nathan Fillion try out for Angel? I thought it was Riley. Which could've been amazing.

Also, did they really change the Cordelia ending after a contract sign? That sounds silly. The way she spoke about it on a convention video made it seem like they were very up front with her she would die--but that the idea/story was so good that she agreed. I know she has gone on to be very proud of her exit and last scene.

I believe Nathan mentioned it in his intro at the start of the "Joss Whedon The Mastre at Play" DVD.
Does anyone know any more about this "Dawn was supposed to talk to the dead" thing? I remember when I watched The Body when it first aired, when the episode ended, I thought Dawn's touch would do something to Joyce but nothing ended up happening. Was something supposed to at one point?
Yes, very odd choices here.

Joss' commentary on The Body:

And some people said, "Oh, that means next week, Dawn's going to heal her with her Key powers!" And I was like, "What show were you watching?" No. It meant "We want to touch it, but there's nothing there." And to go out just before she touches her was to express that. To express what I've been talking about the whole way. There is no resolve, there's no resolution, there's no ending, there's no lesson. There's just death. Well, I hope you've had a good time. I know I have. Bye!

This should be its own Whedonesque meme. Next up, 25 little-known facts about..
"After Angel wrapped, Boreanaz was actually offered the part of Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolanís Batman reboot, based on his dark yet witty take on Angel. He turned it down. He also turned down a part in the Resident Evil series and almost declined the role of Seeley in Bones."

I stopped believing these completely after this one. No one who starred in the movie The Crow: Wicked Prayer would have turned down these roles. Unless they hated themselves. And I don't think DB does.
So much made up trash in this article. And the sad thing is many people will read it and believe it and then later go on to repeat this trash on internet forums. Sigh. I'm still seeing people repeat made up rumors from after season 7 of Buffy ended.
It probably says a lot about me that I swallowed the Batman and Ben Affleck stuff without a quibble, but raised my eyebrows at the suggestion that DB improvised his lines, because I know Joss usually doesn't allow that at all.
True little known fact. David B. used to take craps in his cast mate's trailers as a joke. Seth Green mentioned it at the Buffy reunion I believe.
The first one I read was the "David takes down his pants between takes" one, along with "push-koo" and just assumed it was a joke list. But then some of them are proper and others just a little off. Peculiar indeed.

Ben Affleck was in the Buffy movie, but that's it.
Alexis took his pants down, sort of, and he did wear the funny clothing, danced the awkward ballet and the pleasing burlesque moves, but all for the sake of ... fun.

'Course that was Angel, but does it really matter?

(ETA: So sorry, I guess you have to be subscribed to IwantJason to be able to watch this. It's the only thing I can figure out about why I'm able to see it)

Most of the scenes at UC Sunnydale were filmed at UCLA, not Santa Cruz. Add that to the list of errors. What a horrible article.
(Wasn't she on S2 of Weeds? Doesn't really count towards 'later period' ETA: I only saw MT's S2 scenes, didn't know she did more)

I kind of want to watch the Weeds second season you saw if Michelle is in it, just for something different.
Gouki: I guess I'm wrong about Weeds, because somehow I was under the impression she was in S2 episodes that I watched ages ago (well, I saw a collection of her scenes) but now it seems I have imagined all that. Weird... Especially since I can't figure out which show I'm confusing it with. So, OK, I'm as wrong as that article.
Six Feet Under?
redeem147: I don't think it's that either. It's possible I did see Weeds S7 and for some reason thought it was 2. I only watched some of season 1 of Weeds and then Michelle's scene compilations so it's very possible I have made some weird mix up. Well, live and learn.
Michelle was in the second to last season of Weeds, she played a drug dealer/con artist who gets involved with Silas (the oldest son).
She was also really good in it. One of the highlights of an unfocused season.
