Firefly class ship shows up on Universal Pictures Web Site
(Flash required.) Look under the "Coming Soon" menu.
What does this mean? Well, just a little bit more confirmation, this time from a much more official source. Note also that Jeremy from fireflymovie.com found out serenitymovie.com is reg'd to Universal. Sorry if this isn't really substantial enough.

I hope the movie works out (including the 'no sound in space' thing!) and I hope it's a success. Although I wonder if it's going to be a hard sell without any 'famous' faces. (I'm sure that was a GOOD thing for the budget proposal though)

Oh, please let this mean what we're all hoping it means.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear what you're saying about Nathan Fillion too. I met him last summer at the same time I met Joss (at the San Diego Comic Con) and I only knew him as Caleb. I wish I had seen Firefly beforehand because I am a much bigger fan now. A super-charming, super-nice guy in person and handsome to boot.
I can't wait for the movie!!

I'm chiming in with vpecoraro, "Serenity now, Serenity now, Serenity now!"
phlebotinin | February 22, 10:04 CET
Aaarrghh!! Don't remind me of that, Karen! We were there too! Except just as we were getting in line they put the 'line ends here' sign up! So we could only watch Joss and Nathan from behind the rope while everyone else got to gab and get autographs and pics!!
And yeah NOW we'd really want Nathan's autograph. This year will be different. Assuming anybody of the shows is there....groan...
EdDantes | February 22, 10:09 CET
Oh, that's so coincidental!! We were near the front of the line, I was maybe the fourth person back and the line wrapped around and ended right next to us! I remember thinking how bad I felt for everybody who got shafted. A girl begged us to have Joss sign a picture she brought with her because she just missed the line, she was nearly in tears, so a friend with us put away one of his items to sign to get hers signed instead.
We actually got to speak with Nathan twice once right after the Joss Q&A (hope you didn't miss that) and at the Dark Horse booth a little later. He was just sitting next to Joss laughing and hanging out. I remember he drew a big box and the words "Place item to be signed HERE". He was really funny and gracious, I didn't have a particular item for him to sign so he grabbed a Buffy comic and wrote, "KAREN! Nathan Fillion CALEB."
I had Danny Strong, Robia La Morte, and Mark Lutz sign the same comic and when Danny saw Nathan's autograph he went on and on about how great he was, so it sounds like his fellow actors like him too.

But I can't wait until there is more substantial information that it is defintely in the works and that we start hearing more news soon. There has just been so much bad news for us fans the last couple of years that it's hard to keep your hopes up. First Firefly getting cancelled, Buffy ending and now this horrible news about Angel. We deserve some really good news soon.

Since the name is 100% consistent with what was revealed Feb. 17 (as posted by Simon but I don't know how to link to a post, just to its referent),
I am officially PSYCHED!!!
(All this "Serenity now" has me picturing George aboard the ship - he's ticked off at some cruel and clever joke River's played on him and he's chanting the chant while the others suppress their giggles.)

Funny, I guess we probably saw each other. Well, not that we were looking at each other of course. My wife and I managed to get as close to the table as we could and took a few shots. Both Nathan and Joss seemed very friendly and open.
And yes we were there at Joss' Q&A. That was really great, definitely one of the highlights of the Con. Joss was so funny and witty we spent most of it laughing. How he always manages to find the humor in the bad things (back then Firefly cancelled, now Angel) and often so self-deprecating.
We're already booked for this year's Con and my big fear is that if there's no show to promote, Joss or any other writers or actors won't be there! We already missed Eliza last year. But I remember reading Joss is there almost every year and had already agreed to appearing in 04, so....still I hope it will be confirmed soon.
Now with the Firefly movie more and more established as a future project and his X-Men gig, I am more hopeful, but I do also hope some actor like Nathan will be there too.

You're quite welcome. Meeting Joss is my only "brush with greatness" ever so it's one of my favorite stories to tell =). Hopefully, after this summer's con there will be more brushiness to report.
Ed-
My husband and I have already registered for this year's con as well. I was thinking the same thing about him not being there but I think with X-men coming out he has the comic world buzzing. I'm not really into comics although I do own Fray (which or course was fantastic) but friends of mine who are comic fiends are really excited about Joss writing X-men.
"I await the inevitable casting of Ashton Kuchner as Captain Mal."

Yep, I'm a comic geek too who's indeed as excited hehe. My wife reads some comics. Not X-Men although she says she might pick that up soon.....;-)
"I await the inevitable casting of Ashton Kutcher as Captain Mal."
(*clears throat*) 'NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (zoom out to buidling, zoom out to see city, zoom out to see planet earth. Scream echoes in space in spite there being no sound there)

I second Ed's reaction, with additional birds flying from trees, small children crying and numerous people looking bewildered and upset...

I think Joss Whedon would refuse to do the movie if Nathan Fillion isn't cast as the Mal.
