Interesting read. I enjoyed a large portion of it, but I would caution that I find the logic that Xander's weakness in failing to marry Anya is in any way a cause of what occurs in regards to Spike's attempted rape very suspect. Anya and Spike's actions after that event are their own. There's no such thing as causing someone to attempt to rape someone else.

I also sometimes wonder about how much angst Xander gets for that event. The narrative deck is pretty well stacked in that episode. He's responsible for himself of course, but that was a whole lot of bad on that particular day.
