(SPOILER) Promo pic from AtS 5x16. This one's getting a decidedly mixed reaction from fans.

Ew. Looks like they twisted her head into a giant pool cue chalk.
She looks like one of the X-Men. Hmmm? (Cross-Over!)
The bodysuit is definitely not flattering to Amy Acker's body.
So much for this season "not dealing with an apocalypse."
Lordy. That outfit has got be the dumbest piece of costuming EVER. It just...tries too hard! The eyes are cool though, freaky. Don't know about the hair color though.
I think it's kinda hot. Whether or not it works remains to be seen. Gotta see if Amy's voice and mannerisms suit the look.
Oooh. Very sexy! I can't wait.
and now I hop back on the spoiler-free wagon.
Well. That's one way of keeping the costs down. Turn one of your regular actors into the antagonist. As for the outfit not flattering Amy Acker's body? A suit of armor would be flattered by Amy Acker's body, what are you blind???

I respectfully disagree. She is a pretty good-looking actress, but the outfit makes her legs and arms apper thinner and her chest smaller; though I'll compromise that "sexy" is probably not the look they were going for. :D

As for turning a regular into an antagonist, didn't they do that twice last season? Though this is looking more intriguing than that was. I hope Amy pulls it off (like Charisma didn't).
Well, if they're gonna put Fred into something weird, couldn't it have been more......ya know, thight 'n shiny? More like PVC or vinyl or lea-...uhm...

Ok I'm a pervy nerd.......leammealone.

Seriously I missed the spoiler warning and I DID NOT WANT TO KNOW THIS! But then I have no one to blame but myself. I'd say my main problems would be that I hope they stear it away from "Willow as a villain" and "Cordy as a villain" since it might start to seem repetitive. But then the Cordy and Willow thing didn't have much similarity story-wise so....

Other thing? She looks a little....Star Trekky I guess. We'll see.
I think it looks very sci-fi. I think it's going to look better when it airs though.

I also did not want to know this. I thought this picture was for episode 15, not 16, dang it. I already saw pics from 15 and I'm intrigued.

Bring it on!
Didn't they use that costume (and storyline) on Voyager, when Kes got possessed by some space dictator and next thing you know Kes is clad in bad leather-armor acting like a hyper-hetero-Mussolini?

And why does Fred look like Tara Reid in that photo?

And is it just me, or didn't pretty much the same thing also happen with Cordy?

And Kes WAS the shy, crew member that was rescued from a harch alien world and who become the love interest of pratically every man on the crew...

hmmmm
I'm with electricspacegirl, I think she looks great!
Well, they are on a tight budget this year. Looks like your typical "I'm an alien!" outfit from the Star Trek gang. And since it's minimal makeup, perhaps she is going to stay this way for the rest of the season/series afterall.
Not to mention they shoot on the Paramount lot and probably just went rumaging through the wardrobe dept at Paramount to find something they could adapt and use and not have to spend money on. So we're lucky - it could have been worse. :)

Ok anyone else getting the Andromeda/Farscape/Aliasesque feel from the outfit or is it just me. Her expression and stance is sort of reminisant of Chiana from Farscape or at least that is how it comes across to me and the outfit looks like the one the former purple Andromeda chick wears, as for the hair - sort of Alias season 1.

This is entire speculation but I read in an interview with Amy Acker recently that she was bugging Joss to make her character evil. She wanted to play evil, so maybe that's where this story is going. I love Acker, and I just watched her screentest on the Angel S3 DVD and it was hilarious! "I hate magic." I wish I could find a transcript of the scene.

It's not really the same storyline with Cordy. They didn't know Cordy was possessed until she started acting stranger and stranger. In Fred's case, they knew it was going to happen beforehand- as soon as she got sick. This adds extra angst for the gang, since they all feel like failures and killers.

Wheeeee!

Yeah I said that too. Doesn't matter much but I don't really think it's a vibe they should go for though. But then it's indeed probably a money thing. It's cheap. BTW on the Firefly commentary Joss also admitted that the soldiers uniforms of the Alliance were indeed leftovers they got cheap from Starship Troopers. ("If you think they look familiar, you're right') So this might be something like that, hehe.

As for the plot, like I said, the plots for evil Willow and evil Cordy had little to no similarity to each other either. It all depends on what they do with it.
ah, the tried and true opaque contacts of eeeevil.
