I didn't know a lot of those shows. Certainly never heard of no 1. But the Firefly mention was nice. And I hope more and more that the DVD market will become a bigger factor in TV, giving shows a better chance or a different avenue.

I was a big fan of 'John Doe', as well. Really sad when it was cancelled. And for some reason, I actually enjoyed 'Dead Last', 'Glory Days', and 'Young Americans'. Hhmmmm... I think those last three were all WB summer time shows. I'm sure there's more.
So, just a warning guys, if there's a show I REALLY like, the possibilities are high that it's going to get canned. I'll try my best to pretend to dislike the next Joss Whedon series, but that will be pretty difficult.

"The show never became a hit, and it was only through dedicated support from then-NBC president Warren Littlefield that the show was able to last as long as it did." Imagine that. Homicide was an excellent show. I wish Northern Exposure would have gotten a mention as well.

This idea could be complete crap and not at all beneficial to the companies involved, but it sounds like everyone could win. They would get their money for the show, as well as boxsets, and you would get your show and DVDs. From what I understand, the DVDs themselves are pretty cheap to produce, so it's not like they would be losing too much by offering some sort of discount to those who already contributed to the show to begin with.
Again... probably all crap. I'm definitely not a PR person.

Prey (13 eps), Roar (12 of 13 eps aired), Roswell (69 eps), Miracles (6 of 13 eps aired), Platinum (6 eps), As If (The US Version, of which only 2 eps were shown), Project G.eeK.eR. (13 eps), ...

I also had a soft spot for the quickly cancelled Titans and Central Park West. Sad to see Karen Sisco is gone as well. And I've always wanted to see both Twin Peaks and Freaks and Geeks, so I should look into those DVDs.

"the Cartoon Channel?"
Sadly, I own a majority of these series already. Just picked up Roswell - Season 1...so good.

Though I have to disagree with the inclusion of Newsradio. In my list of favorite shows ever, it ranks in the top 5, but it wasn't the same after Phil Hartman's death. I really can't argue with the ending of the show after that season.
I just fear that if the list were to be rewritten in a year or two, Angel and my other favorite show on TV, Arrested Development, would be listed...
