Will Black Panther join The Avengers? Actor Morris Chestnut seems to be in talks to play the character in the sequel based off tweets.

Hmmm, interesting... *makes thinking face*
Srsly, why not Chiwetel from Serenity? He's a bit younger and a great actor, imo. Or just go Djimon Hounsou, he seems like a perfect fit.
Quite surprised this isnt confidential and secret and all...
I don't know much about Marvel characters who haven't been in the movies, but I'd be disappointed if the Avengers gender imbalance was made more extreme rather than lessened in the sequel. It would make me wonder about how much creative control Joss actually had.
Bluelark, what about the people who want to make demands as to racial balance?

FWIW, I don't condone any fans making any kind of demands (veiled or obvious) on writers.
Nooooo! I want Aldis Hodge to be Black Panther...
I'm not really a comic book reader per se, but that would be a cool character to see in a film. Morris Chestnut was very good on the new V series. He's got charisma oozing out his pores. I had found someone's wishlist of characters before The Avengers were "assembled" and they wanted Andewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Black Panther (Andewale was Mr. Eko on Lost). Lots of talent out there.

I'd rather see like Emma Stone as the Scarlet Witch myself.
The Black Panther would be so cool!
I think T'Chaka, father of the Black Panther, is more likely.
I don't know much about the character, but Morris Chestnut? Oh my goodness, bring him on, please! I didn't love V but I loved him in it.
I'd heard the name but I had to look him up - yes, definitely looks like T'Challa!
IrrationaliTV - fair point. Anyhow, this will be fun if it means we've reached the point of casting rumours. I look forward to hearing about any new characters who might appear in the sequel.
