Can't Stop the Serenity - celebrating Joss Whedon's birthday in a big way. Want to see Serenity on the big screen this weekend? The CSTS website has details of where you can see the movie. And check the events page for other dates.

As the item points out, CSTS originally focused on Joss's birthday and surrounding days, deliberately. (Organizational and scheduling pressures necessarily began spreading the dates out later on.) That first year, all events happened on June 22, 23, or 24, except one on June 17 and one on June 30. Good times.

The above history brought to you by the man who started it all.

Over the last 7 years, CSTS has raised over $800,000 for Equality Now and other charities. Every year new people get involved, eager to run an event and it isn't too late to do so now! June 30 is the deadline for an Aug event and July 31st for a Sept. event.

It doesn't even need to be a screening. An Affiliate event can be almost anything as long as it raises money for Equality Now. The Beeston Browncoats took over the back of a Pub last weekend and had a grand time.
