Tom Hiddleston: No Loki in 'Avengers 2'. Tom Hiddleston confirms to EW that Loki won't be in the sequel. "I think keeping it fresh and new is good for The Avengers even though it's a shame for me."

Here's a real sweet pic from @PBS to ease the pain

I think this is a very good idea. I know Loki has his fans but being the bad guy again in Avengers 2 would be too much.
I read somewhere that Marvel are planning to make him the overall big bad of the MCU, so swings and roundabouts.
I sort of had a feeling, especially after Joss's interview a while back. It does make sense (though I hope it doesn't mean Loki comes to an unfortunate end in Thor 2) but I am sad to think that Joss won't be writing Loki again soon. I feel for ya Tom!

I'm still hopeful for Loki in future phases *holds on tight to optimism*
kinda guttered but after all he did get hit a lot by the hulk!
Makes sense to me to have another villain in the next film.Ultron is one of The Avengers biggest.Wonder if we'll ever get Kang or The Masters of Evil at some point?Too bad Norman Osborn can't be shared with Sony and be used since he's tied to Spider-Man.In recent years in the comics they made him a Avengers level threat.

I'm sure he'll still be back in any future Thor sequels after The Dark World. How could they do any story involving Asgard without him?
Well, it makes sense. I mean, what would the original Star Wars trilogy have been like if the same villain was in every single one. You'd be, like, really? Darth Vader again?
hehe! and not forgetting orginal star trek series, remember Mudd and his naughty wives?
There's such a thing as 'too much of a good thing.' Joss knows that, and I'm sure he'll utilize Loki in a way/film that we least expect it and make the character all the more awesome for it.
