Agreed, excellent post. Says it all and describes the show brilliantly. I can't wait for this movie to come out. I am a little concerned that Wash and the Shepard weren't mentioned but I also know Joss said he'd want the entire cast on board for any movie. The only thing is, it is going to be so hard to wait for this movie to not only be made but then the whole long wait of it being marketed and then finally coming out. It will be very hard to avoid all spoilers with that long of a wait but I will do my best because I wish to remain spoiler free!

I'm so excited about the movie, but also I remain pessimistic(yes i know, suprise suprise), Will all the cast be given adequate screen time and story lines in a movie. I think they need to make this a 4 hour event with an intermission at the 2 hour mark, i'd go watch it.

I'm with you, 400lb_Gorilla. I'm afraid two hours won't be enough for the whole epic story...maybe I'm just spoiled by LotR. But if anyone can jampack two hours with character development, plot, great dialogue, and prettiness, it's Joss.

This is a very good sign that Joss will be able to continue telling his stories through movies. I hope Universal will be as excited to put a Buffy movie on the big screen in the future.

And, I cannot wait for this movie to come out!

Whoever wrote this press release seems to have a strong understanding of "Firefly" in particular and Whedon's work in general, plus the movie synopsis sounds like this is an adventure that could appeal to a wide audience, not just hardcore fans. AWESOME.

And yeah, I think everyone realizes that a lot of the characters are going to end up getting short shrift in a two-hour film, but I'm confident that Joss will find a way to give each of them at least one choice scene, and I'm hopeful that there will be more "Firefly" stories (whether as more movies or a new TV series) in the future.

Ron Glass ("Reverend Book")
Alan Tudyk ("Wash" the pilot)

Not sure what that means, either contract not yet finalized or these actors are not coming back for those character parts.
