Joss rewrote some scenes for Thor: The Dark World. As revealed in the latest issue of SFX magazine.

Joss came in to save our lives a couple of times. We had a major scene that was not working on the page at all in London, and he basically got airlifted in, like a SWAT team or something. He came down, rewrote the scene, and before he got back to his plane I sort of grabbed him and said, 'And this scene and this scene?' And he rewrote two other scenes that I thought had problems. Then finally we let go of him, he took off again, and we shot the scenes; and they were just much better and much lighter on their feet. Much more fun, much more surprising than what we had been trying to do. I can relate to guys who come out of the TV world, since that's where I come from. And being able to land and work and solve a problem quickly... I really was grateful.

Joss is a one-man emergency response super-writer. Head-canon accepted.

Complete with snazzy cape.
That IS why they pay him the decent bucks, right? That, and a lot more.
It's like the plane from Agents of SHIELD, right? Immediate writing response....
Or like a SQUAT team.
If you have a problem, a movie that just needs a bit more zip, if no one else can help, and if you can find him....maybe you can hire Joss Whedon!
The renowned former script doctor in action once again. :)

Wonder if we can spot the scenes written by Swat Joss.

I can't get that comedy skit out of my head now, Written by Kids I can see him getting off the plane and doing that crazy awesome crouch walk with a script in his hand.

Curse you ssbssa, you beat me to it :)
*Movie trailer voice*:
"This Summer... When a scene just won't work, when a movie's plot goes nowhere, when a just the right kind of witty retort is needed... You need a script doctor. But not any doctor would do... When you want the best you call... Joss Whedon... The best Doctor in Hollywood, unless someone is actually injured, then you should get a medical doctor"

That sounded good in my head and then got confusing.
Just imagined that with the voice Jed used for the Dr. Horrible trailer.
banner, LOL, --that's a nice A-Team reference!

I'm so glad Joss did some work on the Thor movie--I really wish he had done some serious work on Iron-Man 3!!! (That movie could have used it, IMO).
urkonn's right. I want a Joss series about superhero screenwriters with Joss playing the lead. Or he could branch into reality TV with a camera feed from his writers' room.
can it please-please-please be the scene from the trailer where natalie portman slaps loki and says: "that's for new york"?
it's so joss!
Banner-that's some class A witticisms there, LOL!

Barzai-I think he did. Though probably not as much as he did on Cap & Thor Dark World, with y'know Shane Black being a well experienced writer (and at one point the highest paid in the world too..) But towards the end of Iron Man 3 there is a thank you credit to Joss, so he must have had a little bit of input..

Katysha-In my head-cannon I'm choosing to believe that he did indeed script that moment. As I know there were a lot of scenes added featuring Loki, and I've noticed that in a lot of the loki moments, including that one, Thor doesn't have his ridiculous arm armour on in the scene. And when I spoke to Joss earlier this year, (Sorry, but I'm never going to tire of saying that LOL!) I thanked him profusely for having Thor be like that throughout a lot of the Avengers movie. As that's the way he was in the comics I read. And Joss seemed to agree that putting Chris Hemsworth in more scenes where he could show off those arms of his, was a good idea! ;)
ssbssa, yeah, I immediately went SQUAT Team, too. Maybe they can just do a little two-second shot of him crouching and typing ...
