Villainy made interesting. Science blog Pharyngula has a brief piece contrasting stereotypical one-dimensional computer game villains with Dr. Horrible.

Main attraction is the discussion. It is basically only a paragraph, albeit a definitely insightful one.

It's easy to lose sight of things. Take the extensive fannish discussions about the factory in "Anne." To some, a factory is exactly that, a place which needs workers, in this case salves from Earth. But to others, the simple fact of its beign shown means that its products themselves had a plot significance, and wnated to determine what it was.
