Billies Shells Review Quite a different take on the episode than a majority of the reviews, calling 5.16 "hollow".

Actually, in the end this is a very positive review.

The idea of Wes using Illyria's time manipulation crystal to somehow reverse time and get Fred back is interesting.... but it seems somehow too scifi for Angel.

I also assumed that the papers Gunn signed meant that he no longer worked for W&H -- did anyone have a different take?

That's what my first thought was. Then they didn't elaborate on it, so I'm not sure yet.
Mmm, dunno. Maybe they're being sneaky and he signed something else.
I originally thought that the papers were a sign that Gunn had been fired, but they didn't say as much in the actual scene, so it may have been just a kind of demotion where he can't approve these kinds of things again. Dunno
Also has Gunn now lost his lawering abilities? I wouldn't mind seeing him going back to his Street Fighter persona.

No, I don't think so. I don't see why he would.
Did anyone else notice that Fred/Illyria doesn't seem to blink during this episode?

I only started paying attention over half way through it, so I could be mistaken. But it would make perfect sense, as a shell of a body doesn't need to function like a normal body, such as blinking to moisten the eyes.
