A round-up of reviews for last week's Agents of SHIELD episode. So So Gay said "finally, an episode which nails the action, plot development and humour that we've come to expect from a Whedon series". Digital Spy gave 'The Hub' 4 out of 5, TV Fanatic 4.5 out 5, SFX 3 out of 5, IGN 7.7 out of 10 and 411Mania 8.4. TV Overmind said it was a "good episode that is moving the characters forward, some more than others". And the ScreenCrush review concluded with "overall, continually strong improvement on the fronts that many were quick to tear into during the inaugural weeks".

It's saying something, isn't it? The thread for the news item "Agents of SHIELD: Fall's biggest disappointment." filled with 50+ comments within a day, while this nice news item on several lovely positive comments on the show drew no response whatsoever since it was posted yesterday...

Well, let me just say that I'm very happy to see that more major sources are reporting positively on the series!
It's encouraging, yes it is. I"m seeing character growth in Fitz, Ward, and Simmons. I think the dust is settling, and I think by the end of the half season, they will be firing on all cylinders. Which is an entirely reasonable bit of time to wait.
Indeed. I also loved the episode. I already thought highly of the show at the start, and every week I feel as if the new episode was even better than the preceding one.

I'm also seeing the growth in especially the three characters you mention, as well as Skye, and the dynamics between the four. I loved seeing Fitz and Ward team-up and get accustomed to each other's different personalities, Skye and Simmons already show genuine caring for one another, FitzSimmons have a beautiful friendship - it was touching to see, no, to feel, how Leo needed to catch up with Jemma the moment he returned from his mission. Lovely!!
