Set Visit: The Grudge, pt. 3 An interview with Sarah Michelle Gellar and co-star Jason Behr.

Nice interview, I like her more every time I read one of these, she seems like an ok girl. Really looking foward to this movie, I hear the director is pretty good, and I'm certainly a fan of most of his peers. Good stuff.
Enjoyed both interviews. They both sound like it's been a great experience for them and it was interesting hearing about their experiences dealing with a director who doesn't speak the same language. This sounds like it's going to be a great movie. I've been tempted to try and get the Japanese movie Ju-on but I want to experience this first before I watch that version. Besides, having bought the RingU series from Ebay, the quality isn't that great on all three of the movies and I wish I had waited for them to hit the States. Mine were region 0 and the film quality was okay but it was hard to read the subtitles.
I hope it's good. I thought The Ring was excellent (one of only 3 movies that ever managed to truly creep me out). But I must say I found Ringu a bit lackluster after that. I know everyone always says the original is better, but it wasn't for me. Things went so fast, so eas, so glossed over. And the guy being a psychic was so easy, so deus-ex-machina it killed most of the suspense. I infinitely prefer the slow discovery in investigation of the american version.

The scene where she crawls out of the TV is pretty creepy in either film, but other details were a bit hoky in Ringu. Like the victims' corpes. They made me chuckle in Ringu, where the closet flash early in The Ring made my grip my seat! I don't grip my seat easily!

Well I think I'll stick with the american version this time around. Same director as the japanese version I know, but with a bit of an american appraoch (and budget) I hope.

Its nice Sarah has an actual role now, as opposed to the Jennifer Love Hewitses and Katie Holmeses' in horror flics. (Okay she was one of those once) Hope it works out.

Hah, I'm imagining her doing the american version of the japanese film "Audition"! Ever hear of that one? THAT would be interesting...
She mentioned she's had a Chinese man as a double.........does anyone know when & where this took place?? I'm assuming it was for an action sequence in BtVS & I've been running scenes through my head all day long.
cosmo81: They used a Chinese stuntman for her for Scooby Doo because of some wire work ala Matrix. They showed a clip of the guy as Daphne on Leno when she was promoting the movie. It was hilarious.

It seems that all the early publicity for The Grudge is coinciding well with promotions for Scooby Doo 2 coming out in a couple of weeks.
Thanks, Silent Night:-)
