Whedonesque - a community weblog about Joss Whedon
"I know you've heard colorful rumors about what an Active is. Robots, zombie slaves. They are, of course, quite the opposite. The Active is the truest soul among us."

The top 10 female performances of 2013. Quickflix puts one wonderful Whedon lady at #7.

So Amy's performance is the only one I've seen from that list. Personally (from what I've seen this year) I'd give a shoutout to Jessica Chastain in 'Mama', Saoirse Ronan in 'Byzantium', and Rila Fukushima in 'The Wolverine'. But those ain't ever films that warrant much praise....

The Best Actress category at the awards should be interesting this year.

I have seen pretty much all of these, and I have to say every single one of them is so good it hurts. What a wealth of talent! Cate Blanchet was scary good, and Adele Exarchopoulos was stunning beyond belief- Blue is the Warmest Color is a movie that is just transcendent. It is a great movie. Amy was wonderful. And I simply love Jennifer Lawrence (and hey, my last name is Lawrence, so there!).
The only ones I saw are "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Gravity". Every word I read about "American Hustle" gets me closer to the theater, though. Sandra Bullock in "Gravity" is truly something, though, it's just... nothing I've ever seen from her before. Haven't really seen from anyone before.
Hurray for Amy getting her well-won propers!
Happy to see Amy on this list. Also happy to see Julie Delpy mentioned. "Much Ado" and "Before Midnight" were my favorite movies of the summer.
