Thomas Kretschmann cast in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. He'll play a new villain for Earth's mightiest heroes to face.

I thought he was supposed to be a secondary villain, messing with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver at the beginning of the movie.
Sounds good. His resume includes KIng Kong and Wanted-I can't place him in either. (Yes, Boto, he and everything will be taking a backseat to James Spader.)
Welcome to the 'verse, Thomas!
I believe he was the boat captain in King Kong - thought he was good in the role, in an otherwise bloated production.

My guess would be he will be an introductory villain, who introduces us to Quicksilver and SW, before being dispatched in an event that then leads to Ultron
I hope they make this one longer than the first. Theyve got a lot of new characters to introduce
The first Avengers at 2 hours and 22 minutes was already the longest out of the recent MCU movies. Highly doubtful it will be longer. If anything it will be shorter.
Even so, they could have extended the first one and I would not have complained. Also, the first one didn't have any major characters to establish, this one will have at least 3 on top of the ever expanding cast. And judging by the boatload of money the first one made I wouldn't be surprised if they extend it.
According to Hitfix he will be playing HYDRA leader Baron Strucker
I've been watching Dracula so I instantly recognized his name since he has a fairly important part in it (playing Van Helsing).
