Clark Gregg discusses Agent Coulson's arc. Agents of SHIELD's fearless leader is interviewed at Marvel HQ on his character's motives especially in latest episodes and his relationship with Skye.

I'm hoping Coulson's arc and centipede will be season 1. And someone different will be behind murdering Skye's village for the villain in season 2.
The character, unseen as they have been, of "The Clairvoyant" strikes me a type of Big Bad that you can get a lot of mileage out of, with them using a lot of intermediaries like CENTIPEDE and Ian Quinn and Deathlok to be his/her/its version of Darth Vader. Though I do agree that trying to get too much mystery tied together would be a dangerous game to play...though you could have it be like The First and the Bringers showing up first in Buffy S3 but not really come into their own until S7, but with the brouhaha over SHIELD having an internal conflict feeding plotlines for a couple of seasons before things get brought back around.
I don't know much about comic books, so please forgive me if I'm being ignorant here. We know that Avengers 2 will have Ultron, and now Vision (who, as far as I know, was created by Ultron as a villain). Doesn't "the Clairvoyant" sound like someone who has.. visions?

I'm starting to think the Clairvoyant Jarvis-turned-Ultron. Jarvis would be able to get a lot of information from SHIELD, would have access to all kinds of technological stuff, would mostly interact with people through phones, and might be interested in knowing how to create life.
