(SPOILER) A clip from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 1.19 "The Only Light in the Darkness". Does anyone else get an X-Files vibe from this?

I'm distracted (and pleased) by the radio playing Dvorak's 9th. My favorite piece.

Is this a character from the comics? The camera lingered on his ID bracelet.
Yes. This is former resident of the Fridge, Marcus Daniels. Google him if you want to know more.
And he's fan of orchestral music probably to the demise of our cellist.

I really wish she'd go all blue on him.
Question: Are Marcus Daniel's powers the same ones used to kill Edison Po through the phone? We were led to believe at the time that the Clairvoyant killed Po, but we now know that the Clairvoyant AKA Garrett has no special powers.

If these are not the same powers that killed Po, then do we know how Po died? (I don't remember an explanation...) And why did the girl in the flowered dress not ask the same question that I'm asking when she learned the Clairvoyant had no powers?

It was probably just technology Garrett had access to. We've seen that or similar used somewhere before in one of the films I think. Was it one of the Iron Mans?
Sunfire I think you are referring to Obadiah Stane's use of a similar tech in IM-1.
What does the mysterious stranger do to the truck (or the items in the back of it?) that gets the truck driver wondering how he did it? I hear a sound effect, but I can't make out what's happening.
Ah, yes. Evil Jeff Bridges, how could I forget. He paralyzed Tony with a phone, right? I remember it looking really inpleasant at the time. I kinda assumed it was a more nasty version of something like that. Marvel phones bad.
@mozzarellademon - He turns the truck off.
