'Joss Whedon as Shakespearean Moralist' - out later on this year. According to the publisher's blurb, "this study in narrative ethics contends that Whedon is the Shakespeare of our time". The book can pre-ordered at Amazon.com.

I dunno how he compares to Shakespeare -- but "If nothing we do matters, all that matters is what we do" and "Everyone is ignoring your pain because they're too busy with their own" have been among my moral touchstones for a while now.
