Rolling Stone's Top 20 Sci-Fi films of the 21st Century. Serenity clocks in at #7.

Apart from Reign of Fire, that's a fair list.
Heh. To be fair, Simon, it was quite low on the list, and they pointed out how far the stars had since risen, while admitting the film's rather limited premise. I got a chuckle out of the inclusion, at any rate.

Only thing that stood out immediately for me is that Moon was relatively low on the list.

I think this is a pretty solid list. Most of the comments seem to hate it though (welcome to the internet!)
I love Reign of Fire for two reasons: the reenactment of Star Wars and Matthew McConaughey gets eaten by a dragon. Alright alright alright! (He made me hate Americans in that movie. And I am American.)

ETA: I'm a little sad at the number of movies on that list I haven't seen yet.

This is a pretty solid list. I agree with Inception's spot most of all, considering just how ambitious it was and how it actually fulfilled that ambition.
