Joss Whedon's behind the scenes role on Guardians Of The Galaxy revealed. More and more of the round-table Guardian interviews are coming online and this CinemaBlend interview expands upon James Gunn's comments about Joss from May.

The full interview was a good read.
I saw the 17-minute IMAX preview on Monday, and this could be one of Marvel's greatest yet. I think James Gunn, like Joss Whedon, is a really good fit with them. I can't wait to see the rest of the movie.
This and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes are my 2 most anticipated films for the remainder of this summer. I loved both Slither and Super and am readily expecting 3/3 James Gunn goodness with this film.
Good interview, I imagine we'll soon be deluged with Gunn conversation as he begins his press tour in earnest. I hope it's a huge hit - if you think about it, it really is amazing that Marvel's two tent pole movies for the year were directed by sitcom writers and the man responsible for "Slither"
Why am I not surprised.
More Whedon-Gunn collaborations, por favor!
That full interview was delightful!

Apparently, advanced tickets are available now for those of us in the U.S. Some theaters haven't posted their July 31 showtimes yet, if you wanted to see it the day before official release. My local theater has started showing it the day before official release as early as 6 pm.
I miss the days when it was only at midnight the night before release that they showed the movies early. It really felt like a special thing to go to one of those. It's like the nonsense where Black Friday deals start on Thursday. Regardless, I'll definitely be there on 7/31 to see this one.
Regarding the interview, his have been some of the most entertaining interviews to read. The coming weeks of press touring and premieres should yield some decent reading.
I snorted when I read this:
"I wrote him an e-mail and said, ‘Hey, I’m trying to get this job. Can you help me?’" Gunn revealed. What he discovered, however, was that he was just a bit tardy in his efforts. Whedon responded, "’You're fucking late. I already talked to all of those guys all about you.’"

Trentaferd I really miss the midnight only showings too. There's nothing quite like knowing that you're in a theater full of people that care enough to stay up that late to see it as soon as possible. It's just not the same.
