How Buffy The Vampire Slayer predicted Joss Whedon's Marvel work. Den of Geek examines parallels between Marvel mythology and Buffy.

Buffy is the best super hero tv series ever made. I've been saying that since 2001.
I think Robert Louis Stevenson gets to be the influence for The Hulk.
I love Buffy and Marvel, but that list is really reaching. I doubt a single thing mentioned on there has ever been even remotely unique to superheroes or comic books and while Joss certainly is a big superhero fan and that must have influenced his work on a show that is sort of a superhero story, i doubt it was a much larger influence than any other part of his life experience.

I mean really - Oz supposedly riffing the Hulk? Oz was every inch the classic werewolf story, struggling to control his curse.
