(SPOILER) Speculating on the Cosmic Nature of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season Two. Nerdist speculates with the cast and crew of AoS about what's to come in season 2.

That was a good video. Jeph Loeb has my favorite strategy for answering leading questions about plotlines: "huh, yeah ok, wow, that would be cool."
I'd be pretty shocked if SHIELD went anywhere near a "major" cosmic story thread of the proportion the article speculates. Given that Coulson's Crew is rebuilding from the ground up, I expect a lot more down n' dirty operations - not grand cosmic adventures. Not even sure they have access to Skrulls given Fox has movie rights .... and as we just spent a half season playing "Who's a Hydra", I doubt the writers would then throw out a redundant season of "Who's a Skrull".
My bet is that the second season will be about the new Director getting the hang of the promotion, the team figuring out where they stand after Ward, rebuilding SHIELD and putting away escaped SHIELD criminals while fighting down Hydra along the way. With of course developing the side stories of Coulson and Skye and the blood that runs through their veins.

Fitz will be find. I'm sure he will. *forced smile* It's not like his near death/betrayal of his bro will bring out the dark side we all know lurks within. Nope.

And Xana will kick ass!
I agree, I doubt we'll see any really "cosmic" events playing out this season. However...AOS would be an excellent vehicle to introduce the more mundane Carol Danvers into the Marvel Movie/TV Universe. This would be a great way to set things up for the future without actually committing to any specific time frame for her eventual transformation. And it would surely bring some of the remaining stiff-necked ex-fans back into the fold.
